Lets raise gas prices to $6 now. Use excess flow of $$ to bail out our economy. And help pay back this HUGE national debt. If we did this now, our economy would be better than it was by the end of 2009. And america would thrive once again. Damn, if some government and oil guys thought of this, they would be so rich. But they arent smart enough and they are too stingy and greedy fucks to ever allow this to happen.


I am all for the coal>gasoline refineries. And all for clean energy. With all the technological advances in our modern age we are still using diesel and gasoline to heat homes and buildings. WHY? we have technology to spend less $$ on oil. Yet your government officials OWNED by the oil companies. Seriously i believe that we should force the oil companies to spend 10% of their profits each year investing in cheaper more efficient and cleaner ways of heating homes and buildings. With our current technology the ONLY thing we should be using oil and diesel fuels for is internal combustion engines.

Let us all start a mob with pitchforks and torches and hunt down us some damn oil executives!

EDIT: Gasoline prices will almost surely rise in the summer as mentioned, but not to $4.00+, at least not solely as a function of it being summertime. The recent plummeting has more to do with overpriced gasoline futures and the global recession than it does with seasonal pricing fluctuations. It'll rise a bit, but if it rises a lot, it'll be for other reasons. Methinks it'll stay fairly low until the global economy pulls itself out of the clusterfuck it's trapped in presently.

The next major city from where I am is a further distance than most European countries are from border to border east - west or north - south. It's true for the most part. However, come where I live and stay for one winter living on a farm when it's -50 outside and snow depth is measured in feet, not inches. You NEED a big ass truck that's gonna use gas. A civic hybrid won't start in the morning if it's outside, let alone make it down the driveway after a blizzard.

But IME a lot of Europeans who criticize American and Canadian use of fuel etc. have never been here... They have no concept of the sheer size and distances between places here. Not to mention (especially in the central and west central parts of Canada) the harsh conditions in winter that necessitate that consumption.

Where I live we have a large influx of European immigrants at the moment... Every single one I've talked to is changing their tune about here and the gas prices. They know even though it's cheaper, we still pay more cause we have to. A guy I go to school with wanted to drive to Calgary, Alberta with some people. He figured on it being about a 2-3 hr. trip.

He nearly didn't believe me when I informed him it's closer to 6-7 and it would be further than if he drove across his home country of France.

His response "But it's just over in the next province!"
Mine: "But you're 200 miles from the border to the next province here, and it's another 200 to Calgary after that."

He also informed me he never put more than 200 miles on his car in a month back home. I told him people here can do that in less than a week, and still be actively trying to save gas. People from Europe it would seem just don't grasp the DISTANCES we have to deal with here.

But whatever. The price of gas, is the price of gas. I'll pay it and not let it affect my life. It's dirt cheap (kinda) now... I'm working on filling jerry cans.

And anyone who doesn't think that president bush exacerbated the downhill decent of our economy is simply an idiot. The amount of spending that has been done by his administration is the MOST this country has ever seen. My girlfriend is now seeing customers comming in (DSW Shoes) with Obama duffle bags and stuffing 10+ pairs of shoes in, and yelling OBAMA MOFUCKA as they run out of the store [Their shrink rate has gone from a 1.3% to a 7% since November]. Retail Lawsuits are going through the fucking roof now that Obama is in. And we wonder why retailers are loosing so much money?

Now that Obama + Franken, I expect MN's taxes to skyrocket with all the uber liberal welfare systems we have in place.

This topped with our judicial policies that protect minorities from discrimination, the local shopping malls have been a free for all the past few months.

I find it amazing that you are blaming one person for the actions of many. What happened to personal accountability? And protection of minorities from discrimination??? Last time I checked when you have someone on tape or any amount of evidence for theft or any crime they are found guilty no matter what color, creed or sex. To me it sounds like a bunch of bitching and moaning and a refusal to step up and change things. I'm here to defend Obama. I'm here to say that people are being a bunch of bitches as a result of something that isn't even that major. Gas prices will rise and fall with the times. Great leaders will come and go just as bad leaders will. The only way to directly affect things around you is to start with yourself and get active within your community. You work with the police? Well set up operations in the malls. Help them get more security with better people, and tactics. DSW doesn't have cameras, I know because famous footwear doesn't have them and I worked there. Also, I have a friend that works at DSW.
