Importing a skyline from canada
Anyone know what needs to be done when importing a car from Canada this guy said he will sell me his 91 r32 gts-t and says its legal in the states, but i still dont no what needs to be done to register it in NY

Just tell customs when you go to pick it up its registered under paul walker and is under the JDM special exemption law they'll know what to do.

Vehicle Importation and Certification Requirements Has all of the information you need.
No, you won't be doing it legally unless you have big money to pay people to do the safety conversions for you. They won't be easily imported until they reach 25 years of age. |

Well that guy straight up lied to you. As far as i know, that car is not legal in the good ol' USA, so you cant legally register it.

i believe the only skyline that has crash test specs/info available in the states is the R33, something motorex did when they we're in business but as far as i know even if u can find a way to get it registered (which there are ways to do so), if you get pulled over by the wrong state trooper, you're gonna be saying goodbye to your skyline, the government has recently started cracking down on the this shit these past few years, all the loop holes are being found and fixed, the U.S. Government does not like to be lied to
