more holes. more common wheel application....when you break a stud, your 4 lug now anyways so it helps have one extra lug...

now for the most part i'm just kidding. lol. it's really just wheel choices.

if they come in 4 or 5 and you already have 4 its not worh it to go up to 5. most people do it for wheel choices not because of just looks but a lot of better bigger manufacturers make more designs and styles in 5 than 4.
Also more automakers make 5 standard on more cars. So there are also other OEM wheels as an option.

Also most people upgrade there brakes as well as going five lug. You can use the rotors and drill them four lug but the reason for switching is better wheel choice. Im 4 lug but found a decent set a wheel in my works xd9.

this actually. i had a stud break at the track and since i was 5 lug originally the tech was cool about it and let me keep running with 4...
