I think it's ironic that after so much work put into those coilovers, they haven't learned that cars handle well because of proper suspension geometry, not because you put a good damper on an otherwise fucked up suspension.
Looks cool though, it's just annoying that they're acting like they do something they don't. |

Alright, I'll let the cat out of the bag...
I want to fit 18x10 +25 XXR 521's on the front of my s14, are these too low of disk for the front with a 10mm spacer (making them +15 effective)? As I stated before, I have 26mm Z brakes & coilovers. EDIT: Tires will be 235/40 on front. Sorry for repost, just want to make sure: |

I personally know someone with these wheels and has like a +5 effective i think. He said they did in fact hit his coilover in the front without the big spacers. So yes you will be ok.
edit: This car. also i think he had 225/40 or 214/40 up front.

Sorry. They did hit before the spacers. So your 10mm will make it so your wheels clear coil overs.

Not really. Stack on one more 10mm spacer if it doesn't work at +15. Maybe even a 5mm spacer. This is too easy for you to be getting this confused.

Any I thought you were trying to pick up one of the sets that Sam had when you got the seat. I must be mistaken. BTW the seat looks fucking sick! if you ever decide to sell it I will give you what you paid for it. Quote:

I also know that good dampers on a fucked up suspension don't make a car handle like Jesus himself put it together. The guys at awol or stanceworks or whatever don't know this apparently. There's enough retarded people in the car scene, and stupid information like that is why. I'm pretty sure a stock 350z on lowering springs would outhandle his car on a track, given the tires are the same. This goes for most 240s too, but we don't go around telling everyone and making videos about how awesome our coilovers are. |

I know he drifts it, but I'm referring to how awol is saying these coilovers slam the car without sacrificing handling and ride comfort. They are. Maybe not ride comfort, but handling yes. Same goes for the E36 coilovers as well. |

So basically your saying your proving a completely unrelated and even not brought up point?
Nobody was talking about how great their coils handle at that height or how fast their lap at fucking Tsukuba is. Nobody is talking about how cool awol is. We are talking about specific cars and their setups, those pics and vids were posted by Edafe to do just that show his fitment. If you want discuss videos post in the video thread and talk shit there. This isnt the suspension thread asshat, its about wheel fitment. People that are worried about correct suspension geometry and Ackerman angles and shit, dont come in this thread. And the people in this thread dont give a fuck about your opinion.

I agree that people concerned with suspension geometry don't come in this thread, which is part of why I feel awol/stancework's claim is stupid. You are correct though, this is the wrong thread for this discussion. My bad, I'll stop. |
