d-max coilover rebuild

anyone know who rebuilds these now? ive heard megan took over d-max usa but not sure if they still provide support for the coilovers. I'd much rather just buy the replacement strut if at all possible since its my daily driver.

We are a D-MAX dealer and can send you replacement dampers if you are interested. They're fairly light so shipping would be reasonable.

Doubt it. Is Dmax even around anymore?

You have a few options - a company like ShockTherapy can rebuild shocks and tune them - but they are going to have their core competency in stuff like King and Fox Racing. Even if you convince them, they'll charge you an hourly rate and it will end up a $4k rebuild.

The important information on a DMAX is going to be seals and disk part numbers, as well as oil levels. I doubt anyone has a service manual laying around so it's going to come down to pulling them apart, measuring and make some guessing on what is a suitable replacement. I don't know if DMAX used off-the self parts or had all custom spec stuff.

Youtube has videos on how to rebuild coil overs. If yours are shot and basically garbage, what do you have to loose? Pull it apart and give it a whirl. FOA, King, Icon and Fox all sells spare parts (seals, oil, ect). Just have to do some digging once you realize what size/parts you need.

Neither of those videos are actually "rebuilding" the coilovers. First guy is just removing the mounts and collars and cleaning them externally. Second guy just bought a new damper to replace a broken one.
