I would say try to fight it because its total bullshit, but I don't think that would be smart seeing as the engine is illegal but wow, never thought they would do something like that.

P.S. The damage doesnt look that bad?

New door, overs, and whatever suspension parts broke I think you would be good to go.

Ron told me Twan said the chassis or subframe is bent or something. I think the damage looks minimal cuz of the bpillar from the roll bar.

You can't fight it. An illegal motor is an illegal motor, no matter how you look at it.

The only method would be to fight not having a warrant to pop the hood, however they have probable cause if the car is in an accident, so fighting that will probably not work either.

Without knowing the details of the accident, I have to tell you that they can't crush the car for emissions modifications.

The only way they can take or crush a car is if you:
1) bought it with money made illegally (and they prove it)
2) The car has mismatched/stolen VIN
3) Car has stolen parts
4) Car was involved in street racing
... maybe I missed an unrelated one, but you get my point - having an engine swap alone gets you a Ref ticket, not a ticket to watch your car get turned into a tin can.

So, how'd it happen? Are they prosecuting you for a speed contest or what?

I was driving the speed limit through an intersection and was hit by a chick running a red light. I have 5 witnesses that gave me there cards and info. My rear subframe where the lower control arm bolt on is pushed over and the door doesnt really close any more because the quarter panel is puched in so far. Im hoping that I can swap it back and get it signed off at the reff then take that and notification that the car is totaled to court and get let off...... but im not sure. The cop was so pissed he just kept saying that I was going to owe 6 to 10 thousand dollars in fees

For what? You haven't broken any laws, except emissions modifications. You received a ref ticket for that.

That really is what happened. I also dont think the girl that ran the redlight got a ticket. Its not going to get crushed because I towed it back to my house

The good news is I just spoke to a friend that is a drag net cop and he said I just have to get the insurance to total my car then take those papers to the court and they will sign it off and I dont have to go to the ref or pay the fine. Then just buy my car back from insurance and probably part it out
