Tachometer problem on 5 speed ka24e

Hello, I have a 5 speed ka24e engine, the speedometer has been repaired but the tachometer still does not work. I have checked the wiring diagram and FSM but have not found the problem, where does the tachometer get the signal from?

Any comments from you guys. Thanks.

There is a speed sensor on the tail of your tranny. Its a round things with a wire off of it.

Also, dunno if you mean repair by replacing the entire cluster, but the KA24DE and KA24E clusters are different and your tach wont work if you use a DE one. Just a heads up.

the signal wire comes from the small plug that connects to the engine harness if i remember correctly - by the ECU On the passanger side kick panel -- for nissan s14 models

if you have a 1997 i can get you the correct wire - if you have another car then you need the FSM

The tachometer in a KA24E engine receives its signal from the negative terminal of the ignition coil or the distributor. To troubleshoot, you should check the wiring for damage, test for voltage at the tachometer signal wire, and ensure the ignition coil is functioning correctly.
