so i was looking at my motor and also someone mentioned my redtop has those same fins or slashes on the front of the head just like a s13 blacktop motor...

does this mean my motor is a blacktop motor? with a cool red valve cover? or some super elite generation of the redtop?

500 (difference for s14) / 12 (how much jade makes) = 41.66666 hours ....

IDK read a lot of internet 9th hand info saying the fins where there for cooling but no solid info

fins or no fins...doesn't really matter. They make the same power etc...Just newer version of redtops and blacktops have fins.

Also, check your ecu and o2 sensor to see if it's a blacktop with a red valve cover or not. Again doesn't really mean anything except age with the exception of the o2 sensors being different.

the late redtops with fins also can come with a E5 ecu and blacktop o2 sensor.

I thought that the older versions (redtops) didnt come with fins? Then the newer redtops do come with them as well as the blacktop, all in all there both the same motors so its not much to discuss about.
