IIRC for the CA ignitor you can use a SR one just make sure you get the pigtails form the SR and splice the wires, same goes for q45 ignitor.

nico has a bigger section for CA's and if you ever have tech questions SXOC is full of info.

Man, I haven't checked this thread in ages.
I actually was inquiring about one of these not too long ago. My local Nissan dealership was still able to get a OEM harness new. It was something like $630 CDN, and 6-8 weeks away.

I also have an uncut CA18 engine harness if someone needs it.

just bought a ca18det and its going in my kouki. i already know to replace to oil pump, water pump timing belt stuff too. but i was planning boosting 9-10 psi on stock turbo with ust FMIC, hks bov, greddy intake and dsm 450cc. how much hp am i looking at and is that safe for stock internals?

Put on a T28, a Z32 AFM and a good chip and you are up in the region of 300 BHP

The pistons tend to have their limit somewhere in that area and the rods give in at about 4-450 BHP.

all the s13/s14/s15 mounts are near identical. the ca18 mounts do tilt a tad bit to the exhaust side but I have never heard anything negative about this. SR/KA mounts are fine!

If you use KA/SR motor mounts on a CA18, it'll raise the engine 0.75". This will make having a strut tower bar almost impossible.

Just get a set of CA18 Nismo mounts. They work well enough.

or you can put spacers on your strut bar on the intake side. Or get the strut bars that have that slant in em.

anyways, anybody know where i can get new coils? or will the 88 pulsar nx coilpacks work?

fun fact, you can put a CA18DET exhaust cam in place of the intake cam, and it helps with the powerband.

88-89 Pulsar SE coilpacks from the CA18DE will work.

And I have a STB with the slant in it, and it still didn't clear with SR/KA nismo mounts. And by spacing the STB, it didn't clear the hood. So avoid SR/KA mounts with the CA if you plan on running a strut tower bar.

You need a Air/ Fuel Controler... SAFC will work! or a simple reflash.. EEPROM/ deutchworks ect...

Rule of thumb is if you change anything having to do with fuel or air you need a reflash or piggyback!
