Ford Barra I6 swap

Alright. Anyone got one swapped in yet?
I want one of these in the 240 like yesterday.

We need aftermarket support ASAP. Lol. Motor and trans mounts, manifolds, trans adapters.

There’s one being done in AUS, white kouki not sure if he has a documented build. I’ve just seen it floating around Instagram. Yea would be wild for sure, think the hard part is getting the motor here, I’m sure they fetch a good penny. Also anyone know the import law for motors from there?

I know Paco from Maximum Drift cast talk about the Barra over 2 years ago. They are very hard to get even in Australia let alone being able to ship it out of there.... I see a lot of Baras go into commodores and other cars.... Plazmaman has a lot on their IG and FB pages...

If you are serious, I am sure you can reach out to them as they are a fab shop as well and have a lot of accessories for the Bara.

From what I can see, that motor is HUGE......

Here is LZ's Bara in a GT350 which has a pretty large engine bay....

You can get a rough idea how large it is

From what I gather the N/A is easy to source.
My research is showing N/A and turbo blocks are damn near the same (gotta watch sump and bracket stuff and of course a hole or two for oil).
So that gets the ball rolling. You can buy a head either new from Ford or an aftermarket one. That makes heads easy to source.
Rotating assemblies the aftermarket support is already there.

Biggest question for me is if it’ll fit under the hood, or do I need a new hood?
I’m already relocating rad to rear as I’m almost certain I’ll have no room up front.

Curious why not a JZ? I get the unique factor and they are amazing engines, but the lack of parts availability stateside would really turn me off. Jz's are nice compact 6cyl- much more than RBs as well. The radiator can probably go under the support also.

Parts availability will grow.
Toyota equipment is aging and getting harder to source.
2JZ is common enough. The Barra is different and is a heck of a unit.

Barra already comes ready to bolt to a t56 which we all know is king (just $$$).

RBFactory has mounts for R33 RB25. Curious how everything would line up in an S13 w/ an R33 GTS-T crossmember.

Height wise seems like there would be some hurdles to jump, but Barras really excite me as the next IL6 swap.

Bumping this again. What’s the route here?
R33 subframe and rb factory mounts?

If I use r33 subframe, does the s13 rack bolt on? I have a HICAS rack so it’d be a bummer if I can’t use it.
