Could be Ensign Red, although it may be a Bespoke color(paint to sample).

so honestly i've read this thread from start to finish at least 10x now no bullshit. i'm looking for a SUPER SUPER glossy/almost mirror black. that has a very slight hint of blue or purple in it. the only ones i find are pearls that in light completley turn either a dark blue or purple. basically i want mirror black, and in light a little bit of blue/purple is noticable? any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Start with a simple black like toyota 202 and add a little more blue and a touch of red to it until you get the color you want


OR


Start with the same black and hit up some blue/purple candy over it. The more you lay over it, they more it will show up.




Bottom line, without doing pearls you probably won't get the color you are striving for, but if you get a black tristage you can add some of the black base into the pearl coat to "dim it down" a little

yes EXACTLY...like java black pearl but insted of gold...blue or purple
or nissan magnetic black but instead of silver/gray...purple or blue. i'm trying keep it as simple as possible as its going to be a garage job.

you're actually looking for a honda color called nighthawk black pearl...it has blue and purple pearl flake in it i think...or maybe its blue and red pearl flake...i dont remember, or atleast you can start from that paint and mix from there...its a neat paint because it really reflects like a mirror when cleaned up good






SO! im planning on shooting my car in spring...was thinking about doing the altima pewter color or the gtr titanium metallic color...that or california sage (aston martin light green) on my pignose s13 hatch...i know ill be able to get paint codes for the nissan colors, but the aston martin might be hard...im also planning on doing it single stage...thoughts?

You can get Aston colors all day long, it's the super car colors that are hard to get ahold of

actually single stage can look absolutely perfect, it just depends on who is painting, prep work (proper sanding and primer) and then if you wet sand it after...

why do you think they will look like shit single stage? what brand are you referring to for your single stage experience saying it will look like shit?

my car when i was in japan...black base coat with massive amounts of red flake. paint is from some random company in japan.. Me and my friend painted it infront of my house so quality isnt great.

From my own professional experiences.


Single stages will NEVER look as good as 2 stage, literally.


The ONLY single stage that is really worth a shit is made by Spies Hecker, it still doesn't look as good as base/clear. The reason being is you really can't cut and buff a single stage like you can with a 2 stage, the other problem is you cannot make the single stage lay out as nice as a 2 stage, even with my amazing sata paint guns it just doesnt happen.
