so i have a question for all the fastback (and coupe) owners out there with brand new (nice) paint jobs.
what did you with your stock black plastic trim around the windows and doors? did you get them painted too, or touched up with black paint? ok so you might get a brand new sick $2000 paint job, but what about that 20 year old rubber trim that looks beat to shit and is cracked/faded/peeling? im curious because im going to get paint soon and i dont know what i should do about that trim, or what i should ask the body shop to do with it. thanks for any insight. |

do you mean the weather stripping or the B-pillar stuff
weather stripping, replace. won't ever look as good as new, and if it does, it still won't work as good b-pillar/plastic trim accents, paint that shit

It will be different with every place you buy it, but the base mixture of the color isn't going to be too bad so price shouldn't be retarded or anything.

the audi "nimbus grey" is surprisingly cheap i found out. the porsche "greyblack" version is quite a bit more. i never did price the Ferrari one though. if i was to do a car in one i would personally go the audi route, has a little pearl in it.
some recent stuff from the paint we are doing on George Marstanovic's new 2012 chassis he will be using in FD this year: cage is a almondy color, bay/interior is our same color as last season, MINI oxygen blue A74 but now with chrome metalflake over it. exterior will be a custom mixed variation of the A74. doing the whole shabangabang in 2 weeks...wish us luck haha

So im getting my s14 painted real soon, when the weather becomes a bit hotter and was wondering whats the brightest white? I was thinking of maybe painting it either m3 alpine white or aspen white of the wrx. Which do y'all recommend?

I think the wrx white is brighter, but there are other whites that are brighter than both |

This if your buying from a 3rd party you wont have the issue of crappy subaru paint the problem is from the factory they dont really sand the primer from mid door down so it turns out orange peely if your not buying from subaru and have a painter that knows what he is doing it should be fine.

Their paint is very soft...My 09 wrx has all kinds of scratches in the clear everywhere you touch the car...If you fart on the paint it scratches.

If you want the brightest possible white out there you need to take a gallon right off of the mixing bank and poor it into a mixing cup. Not adding anything to it will make it stupid bright then you can throw white pearls into it to make it even brighter

The time it takes to match it isn't worth it, thats why it gets blended anytime we spray it
My car is Toyota 040 with blue and white pearls and its really bright |

So Toyota has the nicest pure white out there? because honestly im tired of the OEM pearl white that's on my s14. It kinda looks dull to me. That's why in trying to look for a bright white paint code, and use that on my car.
