hight beams wont work....PLEASE HELP
i have a 1992 240, with the stock pop up head lights...and my high beams went out so i went and got a set of new head lights and once i pluged them in, i found that the problem wasnt the head lights its the high beam wire or switch b/c when i click the high beams on both head lights go out....can anyone please help me or point me in the right direction so i can fix this problem
i checked the fuse for the high beams and its in perfect condition so its not that thanks, pqsoccerboy17 |

i had the same problem, on your steering wheel column or whatever it's called, take off the column cover, take off the 2 screws that hold the left switch/turn signal thing that you use to turn your lights on, on the back of that handle, you'll notice a plastic sheet covering one side, you can see through that there's 5 fingers, take off that cover, turn on your highbeams, you'll notice that 2 fingers go down, they're probably not touching thats why it doesn't work, use something to push down the fingers just to check if it works, be careful if you use metal, don't want to have two touching, lol create some sparks and end up blowing fuses, if they work, unplug the harnesses attached to the handle/box, and just try to bend them more so when you turn your highbeams on they'll touch, i read it off a forum on here somewhere i think, i ono, but that shoudl be your problem, just becareful not to blow any fuses while messing with the fingers, i've blow a few doing it lol..
