Consensus among most is that mods add no value to the price of a car. There is a very small amount that serious mods (i.e. turbo kit on a car that was originally NA or a large enough quantity of less expensive aftermarket parts that are from quality companies) add to what most reasonable people are willing to pay for a car. In most cases, you might be able to get away with asking an additional grand or several if its real nice but it isn't going to be anywhere near what the parts cost, or even what the parts could sell for removed. If the seller isn't okay with that, then take the shit off and make more selling it separately. That's just the way it is.

Now that car in particular, I don't see much on it that's all that great. I wouldn't pay jack shit extra to get those mods. Working heat and AC shouldn't be the exception to the rule and nobody gives a fuck about a beer top handle or a lot of the parts on it that aren't anything to write home about.

A couple of 240's with hydraulic handbrakes would pull a premium one week before Missile Bash.

Guess I have to clarify more. If someone is selling a car with a $2000 set of coilovers, a nice big brake kit, fancy wheels, and other mods of the same caliber, the price should reflect it. That said, I don't see anything on that particular car other than maybe the wheels, that would add jack shit to its value, and usually the quantity and quality of mods on your average import from a FS ad are not sufficient to add hardly anything to the value. Regardless of quality parts or cheap parts, any idiot who thinks they can just take anywhere near the cost of their mods and add it to their asking price, is sorely mistaken.

That's a very sticky situation. If they're Isis parts then I wouldn't value the car at any more than 25% of the total cost of the parts. If they're quality, I'd go as much as 60% msrp total of the parts to add on to the total of the parts added to the cost of the car. Rule of thumb

ISIS parts, imo, are worthless.
Quality parts, especially if no longer available, are worth quite a pretty penny. I have no problem paying for something, especially since it took someone time and money to procure and install these parts.

Saw this today on the freeway, loving the wheel fitment. Hella flush.

LOL. This. I literally wouldn't give them jack fucking shit extra for a car because it has those sort of parts. I'm just gonna take them off, sell them as used for next to nothing, and put proper shit on anyway. So go ahead seller, take off your cheap ebay and bottom shelf brand parts and put your worn out OEM parts back on. Those fasteners will have been freshly undone for when I have to go back in and replace them so I'll have an easier time getting them off. Hell, I may not even have to bust out the air impact depending on what fasteners they are.

That's the problem though. These cats expect to get the extra money for their shitty parts AND they don't want to have to remove them to get it.

Even for used quality parts, there's a certain point where I'd rather just spend the extra money to buy it new from a reputable source instead of some random dude online. My policy changes case by case but for most parts $1500 or less, it is typically no more than about 75% of the new value of the part if they're removed from the car, and something less than that if they're still installed. I remember bashing some dipshit a couple years ago because he had a $4000 supercharger kit that had been sitting for a while, for sale for like $200 off and wouldn't budge on the price. He didn't understand why it wasn't moving and I'm pretty sure he still has it as a result. At least it wasn't installed in a car though, haha.
