I just dropped my car off for body work & paint today & im looking to protect the paint on the hood from the under hood temps. I dont want the paint to get messed up because my LS1 produces alot of heat.

I dont have the insulation under the hood anymore, i got rid of it years ago because it was destroyed with oil etc over time.

I have silver heat reflective film
http://www.thermalprotectioninc.com/...ive_Films.html

Reflects at least 95% of the radiant energy.
Provides radiant heat protection up to 1050°F (and higher for short durations).
There is a minimum of 400°F gradient temperature drop across film during normal operating temperatures.
Film is 28” wide, 14 mil thick (0.014 inches)

Do you think this will be sufficient or should i look into getting another OEM under hood insulation?

Wrong thread but you will be fine ls gives off less heat then a top mount turbo would by the hood

1971 mustang mach1 came in a similar color. Personally I don't think it suits a newer car well, but that's your choice if you think it does. bermuda blue metallic would be a more flattering color.

Does anyone have an idea whether this car is Nissan OEM KLO with a lot of pearl or something else entirely (silver is hard to tell). Does anyone have an idea what color this one is?

Does anyone have any reference to the paint codes for 180sx? I know the type x models had different paint codes than what was offered in the US.

Have them powder coated 2 stage. Gloss black then pearl silver/chrome over top.
