Super nice set up. Big ballin points!

but....$5k for brakes is unheard of for most schassis guys, the set up is nice but a bit overkill.

^ I am sure there are people who is willing to shell out the money for brakes just for balling factor. I originally did it for the GTR 32/33/34. It just happen that they will fit on S chassis as well. I would say it is abit overkill for street but same as having 400whp+. It is overkill since you don't "need" 400whp+ to go anywhere..LOL

Beside, $4700 for a set of brand new brembo BBK is not too bad if you ask me.

I agree there are people that will fork out the money...but very few of them in our community.
Many people might be hesitant to buy brakes that cost more than their whole car.
If you have the cash why not? You gotta pay to play right?
I love the brembos but most of the OEM set ups are not so great on weight.
How much do your calipers weigh with pads in place

Yea...weight wise they are abit heavy.

here is the weight of the caliper for comparison.
cayenne S - 15Ib
997 turbo - 13Ib

Rears are alot lighter at 8Ib

I am working on a re-design bracket so it'll save maybe another 1/2 Ib. right now it is just a chunk of aluminum that is CNC with not weight reduction.
Just for reference, the GT kit from brembo weight 11.7Ib for the front 6 pot caliper but they cost $4500+ just for the front. I guess you get what you pay for.

I wouldn't say they are bad on weight as they are not that much heavier than stock z32 ones. However, the rotors do weight a ton even with the aluminum hat.

I don't know anyone with enough rubber or weight to justify those huge calipers, and the unsprung weight sucks 100% of the time.

Mike's 13" 4-pot Wilwood setup is the best for S-chassis IMO.

I put one of my calipers on the weight scales, with the pads in them each one weighs 5.7lbs, one 26mm aluminum Z calipers weighs 8lbs IRRC without the pads.
When i finish making my brackets Ill weight the entire set up for a total weight if it helps you guys.

You can pick up the Superlite Forged Wilwoods for $400ish but youd need to figure out the rotors and brackets/hardware situation on your own.

Exactly! They are quality brakes and that's a rather fair price. It's like they say, you gotta pay to play!

So I finally finished up my brackets and test fitted.
I went with 1/2" billet aluminum instead of the 3/8 steel I had planned on using originally to save a bit a of weight since the 350z track rotors already weigh a ton.
Here a few photos of the set up thus far.
I just need lines and im ready for install.

Yeah of course! I actually I posted to the link to one of the vendor's websites a page or two ago.
They are $165 plus shipping, the company is in Oregon its called Revolution Brake.
You can also get them direct from wilwood for $125 each with no hardware.
I did a bit a research before deciding to make my own, it cost me roughly $60 after all was said and done.

^^^ If you clicked on the link ManNegra posted, you see this is a Zilvia/NRR member that made the brackets, for a fair amount less than the Revolution Brake brackets.

110 shipped for the group buy, I saw that.
Making them is still almost less than half of that if you have the time and resources to do so.
Either way im not saying I'm the first to do this, I was just sharing.

Not saying you can't build one. But for those that don't have the time to fabricate one, there are a few good options out there for very little cost, Andy's being one of them.

That's AMAZING.

So for those on a really tight budget, just use stock brake lines till you can afford the braided ones!

That's retarded. Anyone on that tight of a budget should just keep stock brakes.

The idea is not to tell people that you use your stock brake lines, the idea is to use stock-replacement steel braided lines.

Okay I am confused. I just purchased a set of evo front calipers for my s14. Do I get the regular SS lines for a 240sx or the SS 300zx conversion lines? The info above is contradicting.

Okay all you loudmouths, you finally Emailed/PMed and pestered me enough to get off my ass and dig for all my notes on this from 2 years ago, problem is I moved since them and my original specs disapeard in the move, luckily I stummbled across one of the old test brackets I made and remeasured everything and updated the original diagram. Now I need to note here Im not an engineer or in the business to make or sell brake parts, so dont come crying to me if you try to copy a set of these on your own and something falls off your car, Im simply passing along some info on what worked for me

These measurments should be a good stating point, honestly I cant remember if this bracket was the EXACT one that I made that fit the best, luckily these are so easy to make that if you get a metal shop to cut you a dozen legnths of bar stock you should be able to measure/drill 6 sets of these in an afternoon. One more point on these I couldnt realy show in the diagram, when you bolt this bracket to the Brembo caliper you will have to grind down the top edge of the bracket a bit and cut two small notches where you see in the pic, this is to clear a couple ribs cast into the caliper, you will see once you get to it, have a die grinder or bench grinder handy.

Anyways sorry for the late follow up, I sold the S14 last year and have moved onto bigger and better wastes of my money/time

BTW, now that I got you all hot on finding a set of used brembos for under 1K Im going to drop this on you. You can buy Z06 billet 6-piston calipers BRAND NEW FROM GM FOR $200 EACH!!!! and it looks like it has the same bolt spacing as the brembos, haha no Im not going make brackets for these for you guys, but it would be pretty hot to see someone do it

Has anyone got the right measurements on this because I checked out the measurements and the bottom holes check out because its 43mm + 100mm + 43 mm=186mm which is the total length of the bracket but if you add up the top holes you get something else, 17mm + 155mm + 17mm= 189mm so I was wondering if anyone fixed that or not because i made my brackets and I had to re-drill the holes.
Also the .5inch thickness is appearently too much for my evo brembos and I'm not sure why. After everything is bolted down the caliper hits the rotor and wont let it spin. I was wondering if anyone had this problem or just me, I'm in the process of grinding down one side of the bracket to make it 17/16 inches thick instead of the .5 which hopefully will be good enough to where the rotor spins freely.
