Fiberglassing holes in your engine bay

hey guys

Im keen to block up some holes in my engine and I am thinking of blocking them up with some fiberglass has anyone done it?

I agree with the welding. We did a bay like this on an S15 and it turned out amazing. I'm sure the glass would be fine, but I can definitely vouch for the welding.

The fiberglass wouldn't hold up as long as welding it. Make sure you really seal it well if you end up glassing it.

Yesterday I bogged up all the little holes there isnt many big holes really to glass.

Everyone nailed it on the head. Welding is by far the best route. I'd be afraid of glass holding up to heat as well as a good ol' weld would.

It's not the heat I would worry about. It's the constant flexing of the metal and the way in which metal shrinks and expands with temperature vs fiberglass. Very poor way of doing the hole filling.
