After thinking about it more, walk up to him and pull out 5 grand in hundred dollar bills, tell him take it or leave it. Maybe less. Start at 4700 and work your way up. No more than 5. Even 5 might be too high.

you ask for our opinion, but you already have an inclination on what the car is worth. Ultimately it all comes down to, how much are you willing to spend on that car.

You figure out a price you think you would pay for it and offer it to him. Do you want one of us to drive it for you too?

You can't ask for opinions and then say the opinion is wrong. Do you want the car or not?

Well if you really think about it, he can. It's our opinion and he doesn't have to agree on it. But it's rather dumb to ask "how much should I offer" and then say "I don't want to offer that" when someone gives an answer to his plea for help.

Well you guys don't have to be smart asses lol. Don't need you to drive it. I think It's high cause I don't know 240's just cause I disagree doesn't mean I don't need help. You can explain why. I don't know about the 240 scene. Just because someone thinks a math problem is wrong doesn't mean the teacher can't show him the right way. Goodness. You guys are all big and smart behind a computer. Lol. Just help me out. Is 4450 fair. A good buy? Help me out. And explain lol. Thanks

Send a message via AIM to fliprayzin240sx
So basically, you want us to break it down for you so you understand why $5500 isnt a bad price:

Chassis: $2.5K
RB25 Engine: $2.5k
Thats' $5k right there. Thats before mount kit to install the engine in there, wiring, supporting mods (radiator, bov, clutch, ect). Lets just put it this way, you can't even do the swap for less than what he's asking for. If anything, I'd go look for whats wrong with the car other than the obvious stuff...

Check for Rust, since I have no idea where you are...

Seconded for "Find a stock one". Especially if you know nothing, otherwise it could end up being a very expensive lesson. I mean I paid 5 for my SR-swapped bucket 3 years ago, not that it was a good idea, because I didn't do research and bought a 96 (and the wiring harness was hacked to shit which causes issues with the wipers and everything else electric) but you get the idea. FlipRayzin knows what he's talking about, and while I can't really comment on how RBs are priced, you could always ask the whizzes at RawBrokerage...

Depends. Does the dash tachometer actually read true engine RPM? Connecting a 4cyl tach to a 6cyl engine will give readings approximately 50% to high. 4000 RPM on the tach would be under 3000 engine RPM. Easy way to tell...... rev the engine; does the needle bounce at 7k or spin on around into the dark zone?
