So I needed mirrors. Not just any mirros, but JDM-Drifto tyte mirrors.

As many of you know, the earlier Maxima, 1989 to 1994, uses the same side mirror glass as a S13. Only the Maxima's are cooler because they have that awesome blue tinted JDM shit.

Actually, that Generation of Maxima is a very high quality import with a fantastically well built interior and very "modern" features for that time. These cars are clearly a notch above the S13 in build quality, and they show it. I wouldn't mind rocking a mint pearl white example as a daily (after poking around one in the junk yard).

So - I scored my mirrors off a mint car in the scraper. $40 with the power switch. Meh. But I then realized the side-mirror it self (the whole deal) won't bolt up directly even though it looks like it could. I needed to replace my entire damaged passenger side... so

Advanced FAQ -

I pulled apart my stock mirror to see how it works. You'll need to yank the 3 bolts under the panel cover on the bottom of the mirror. You also have 3-4 bolts to pull the metal mount out of the side of the mirror that bolts to the car. It's the part next to the screw driver.

As you can see the maxima mirror is apart. The top is free from the base, and the metal mount is free from the plastic cover. The only thing stoping us now is the connector wire.

She ain't fitt'n. You'll need to take apart the connector. Use a small screw driver, flip the plastic lid and pull the wires ONE AT A TIME, firmly but gently. Remember the order.

Shit will now come free. Victory!

Put it back together and mount. Hopefully you where smart enough to get the mating connectors while chopping shit up at the compost heap. Solder some wire to the connectors, run them through the door with the speaker wires and life will be good.

Maxima switch is 10x better built then the S13 one and hella more JDM Yo. It fits in the same slot as the stock S13 switch. I may strip off the lettering.
