So I've been thinking getting turbo for my ka24det it has 188 thousand miles and runs great or save up to do a swap ?

If you really have to ask what motor/swap/turbo to go with, or how much it will cost to rebuild/turbo your ka, then you really need to take a step back and reevaluate.

YOU need to go do some more research on the costs of doing a quality rebuild/turbo on a KA, versus doing a SR swap, versus doing whatever other swap you are interested in. WE cannot spoon feed you.

There are literally thousands of threads/builds with good information in them for you to see... Find them on here, and start reading.

I have done a lot of research but i just wanted to know if it is a dumb idea to turbo a ka that has that many miles

not to be a tool, but if you wanna blow it up, yes it is a dumb idea. Do it right, rebuild it first.
