How much time do you think you ended up having in the whole thing? |

Total time with bondo, 3m adhesives and paint dry time; I would guess about 12 hours....could be less could be more. Its a neat little project I wouldn't mind doing it again

The Chip Guard sprays on flawlessly. The Texture Coat can get over spray dust onto sections of the piece being sprayed. It makes for grainy sections depending on the piece being sprayed. A piece like Te37 did isn't too bad because it's mostly flat. But when I spray pieces that are highly contoured it can create areas that the over spray will actually build up on the backside of the contour. A way around this is to rub over the entire piece pretty hard with your hand and fingers once the piece if completely cured. This will rub down those built up over spray nubs before you spray the top coat. Or, just use Chip Guard and you won't have to worry about it. Also, the Chip Guard comes in Satin Black... so no need for a top coat if that's the color you are shooting for.
It also does not get the weird little pin holes that the Texture Coat can get. If you look in Te37's picture between the middle and right gauge right below where the vent goes, you can see some weird little holes. That's from the inconsistency of the Texture Coat... Chip Guard does not have this issue. |
