Driver's door won't unlock, but passenger door locks fine

I got a 96 240sx that have a door that won't lock in the driver's side. It has a VIPER remote lock/unlock and alarm system, I clicked, held, and did all kind of things with the remote, hearing it clicks, but the door opens normally like it's unlocked. The passenger side locks fine though. I tried manually locking it inside (pushing the locking button in), but it still opens like normal. I read about a thread like this before but I don't think the author ever posted how he fixed it or what was causing it...

lol I wouldn't be posting here if I was going to take it to the dealership

Just prefer to ask first before digging in, don't wanna do anything too crazy and it ended up being one of the simplest or most common issue.
