Also, I think I won't be keeping P/S. Have a mate who is a fitter and turner who said he's willing to do another mates rack, so I'll try and see if I can get mine sorted as well. No P/S is an aesthetic choice...as was the tubs.

I was only able to give one side a coat of etch primer tonight to stop the rust bunnies getting at it. Will have to do the other side tomorrow.

I know people usually just fill it and loop it when they remove the pump

No idea really. I think the main idea is to remove the seals and smash some grease in there.

I need to do some research on the matter, but a manual rack would satisfy me greatly.

Will keep you posted on the matter.

You strip the rack down and grind some slits in to the plungers inside the rack, fill it up with grese and hay presto it works on the same princaple as a manual steering rack.

I was wondering more for the lock to lock ratio. The P/S rack would still be unruley in a parking lot with it's ratio, but if you could find a quicker ratio manual rack, one that's made for that duty, it'd be a little nicer when you're going slow.... that's all

Iv been driving mine for a year with out p/s, its actually verry drivable if yyour not a twig. I still need to open mine up and modify it i might do it for you depending on how many things i decide to smash while doing mine.

Coated the tubs in etch the other day to reduce any rusting that may want to occur whilst waiting for them to be welded in and painted properly.



Went and picked up this nice rare piece of kit thanks to a mate. It's a Tomei 3-Point Brace. Couldn't be happier with it! The brackets could do with a new lick of paint, but the anodized bars are in pretty good condition.

So glad the badge is still on it, too.



It also came with all the bolts as well. Even better!



Was planning to atleast have sanded the engine bay a little more and have it coated in etch before the end of today, but I doubt that'll happen.

Went to a mates earlier to get my internal gate welded shut. I did just that.





Going to buy some spray on ceramic coat to cover the welds up. Should look a little better as well.

I ordered this stuff only on Sunday, so pretty happy with how quick it all came.

Those unfamiliar with the product; "The S13/180sx SR20DET eccentric (ie. off-center) throttle wheel makes the travel of the throttle cable down low in the rev range longer and gives you more control, and makes the travel up high shorter for instant throttle response. Great for drift or even general street use. Seriously, one of the best cheap mods money can buy."

Pretty self explanatory.

The only mounts that I have left to purchase are my engine mounts, which will be Cusco Solid Engine Mounts. That'll mean the bushes will be solid all the way through.

Haha, they are indeed! I just bit the bullet, and having a large sum of cash in my hand that I could freely waste, made it an easy decision.

I have a set of solid motor mounts i was contemplating using, however, i'm worried about it being too much vibration..

Wondering what your thoughts on that are. It appears you don't care... is this more or less a track car?

Mine's more of a street car than a track car so that's why i'm asking

might just get some nismo mounts and call it a day

You would be right, I want the car to be as raw as possible. That's just how I like it. Although, the car is still, and will continue to be, road regoed.

I'd say probably get some Nismo ones, like you said. I believe they're only 60% stiffer, get a Nismo tranny mount as well. Should make a noticeable difference but not be too harsh to drive daily if you're so inclined to do so.

I cleaned the rear housing up a bit, and then sprayed the ceramic coating on it. The ceramic spray I used wasn't the best, not to mention the housing was rusting beforehand, so it's flaked in some spots.

The finish isn't too bad. It's a low mount turbo so I'm not really too fussed with it.


I also got around to finishing off the sanding in the engine bay and applying the etch.

All ready to go:

After a rollercoaster of a day, from almost being crushed by some fat cunt in his Ford Explorer to dealing with non-stop Christmas carols and more ignorant retards, it was nice to come home to some car parts.

Further info: The motor was built by C-red and machine work carried out by Heinz engineering, the motor has approx 10000km's on it.

This has knocked at least a month off of wating and saving money, so I can save for ECU and 6Boob, now.

Going to keep the other engine and just build that up slowly and chuck it in something else later down the line.

Pretty happy with the purchase.

This build has snowballed so much, but I have no fucks to give!

This will be the turbo setup I'm going to run:

- GTX3071 and a twin scroll rear housing to suit 60mm wheel

- 6Boost Twin Scroll with T3 Flange with twin 38mm outlets

- 2x Tial 38mm gates

This setup should do me for a good while.
