The TX Type X RB Build Thread

I've been a lurker here for quite a while, I always knew i wanted to build an S13 hatch but i wanted to wait until I could do it the right way, no zip ties, plastidip, or knockoff parts. So the end goal is a drift, street(show?) car, that will run OEM Type X with a Nissan Skyline RB25/26 with forged internals, shooting for 600hp on e85….

In any case here's where I started, I bought this car from Missouri outside of St. Louis, S13 hatch with an Rb25 already running in it

This turned out to be a huge mistake, this car had rust all in the frame and places where the previous owner had attempted to tack weld where the frame meets the strut tower.

All in all i decided to start with a cleaner car due to the high hopes i have for this project. The reason i have included this in the build is because this is where a good number of the parts for the swap came from.

Here is the car that the build will be based on a 1992 hatch, that I purchased from Arkansas, the car came with some sweet suspension components, including fortune auto coilovers, and powered by max suspension arms

Put on the ugly orange wheels (MB Battles 18X9.5 +15) more on this later

Then took out the KA24DE that was originally in the car, to begin the build by painting the engine bay, this is the color that the whole car will eventually be

Now on to the Engine Build, like I said before I will be aiming for 600hp on e85, will be running a haltech platinum, and a 6262 precision turbo here is the parts list for the engine:
Freshly Machined and Honed Block
CP Rb26 Pistons
Manley H Beam Rods
Calico Coated Bearings
Rb26 Crankshaft (with correct snout)
Fully Balanced Rotational Assembly
Tomei 256 Pon Cams
Tomei Oil Pump
Tomei Head Gasket
Supertech Springs
New Water Pump
ARP Head and Main Studs
Precision 1000cc injectors
Precision Intercooler
Precision 6262 journal bearing turbo .82AR
Greddy Intake Manifold
Tial External Wastegate
Tial Blowoff Valve
HKS Timing Belt
HKS Fuel Rail
Yellow Jacket Coilpacks
Stainless Steel Braided Lines

While waiting on the machine shop to finish , I had time to work on the ugly orange rims, I decided to polish them, something that i would not recommend anyone to do, as it is extremely time consuming, about 65 hours went into this set to make them look this way,

So after, the motor was assembled, it was time to drop it into the car, still working on getting the wiring harness all nice and neat, relocating the fuse box, mounting ps and oil coolers, intercooler, and finishing up the piping and fuel system,

As of now, I am redoing the Exhaust Manifold as i didn't like the position of the turbo for the first manifold i had, it is currently being made by Tay at Tay's Automotive.
Here are pics of the motor dropped in and of the original exhaust manifold, pics of the new manifold coming soon…

Thanks man, It was a beating, took about 2 months total, lots of sanding, sand blasting, aircraft striping, polishing, and barrel machining, I think its worth it though not many people have them polished in this way, they will be one set of three different wheels for the car i believe

Dope build man..... Cant help but to think of a certain Hawaiian drifter when I look at the paint scheme.... Looks super clean regardless. Keep up the good work.
