I'm glad I don't see 240's as often as you guys do.  But I did happen to see a new one(s13) on the way to work last night.  it was a nice dark red hatchback without any appearance mods =o)

I admit I never wanted a 240SX or really knew what they were before FATF...but then again I don't recall seeing one in there that they actually talked about.  I didn't hear about 240's till earlier this year.  I don't think the ricers around here know much about them...they're too busy with their FWD Hondas.

I will NEVER put a sticker on any car I own unless its from a sponsor who is actually paying me.  And I don't even plan on doing a Silvia conversion or SR swap on the 240 I get.

Well there's nothing wrong with doing a silvia conversion or SR swap, it's just the fact that people never even used to know what kind of car it was, and now everyone thinks they know everything about it, when i'm sure most of them really know jack crap.

Oh, and I wouldn't mind seeing 32 tails on a 240 if it was done well.

I will be the first to admit it......

I didn't know too much about the 240 before I read the SCC article. &nbsp;It happened to come out at the same time I totaled my civic, coicendence?(sp) &nbsp;I've always liked the 240's, but around here, the S13's that I see are all ghetto...ie: steelies, chrome hubs, rusted out, falling off exhaust, one head light stuck up, etc.. a nice 240 is rare. &nbsp;Saw an S14 last night. &nbsp;it was balck, lowered and had a decent exhaust. &nbsp;I have always wanted a FR car, but thought I was doomed to a domestic then. &nbsp;

BTW. &nbsp;I am not a ricer. &nbsp;I will never put stickers on my car. &nbsp;I would rather pay for the parts then put stickers on the outside of my car. &nbsp;

One question: &nbsp; So many of you think it is rice to put swap in a SR20DET. &nbsp; Why is that?

240SX ricers/poseurs/newbies get their cars to....

-Imitate Option2 with their "mAd tReE DrIfTiNg SkIlLz" or an excuse to slap a bumper sticker on their car

-"Wow, the trunk's got enough space to attach this huge aluminum wing on it!"

-Saw it on Super Street or Sport Compact Car

-Decided to jump on the bandwagon of Honda hater nazis just to seem cool to everyone else, but end up looking like completely conceded asses.

-Watches Initial D

-"I saw this dope car on The Fast And The Furious" syndrome.

I've made my point here. &nbsp;240SX's rock, get 'em for the right reasons.

i saw an almost perfect 180sx conversion
he had the rear windows, the '96+ type x taillights and an sr20
he also had some pretty nice wheels
no wing though
it was a nice ass car

I haven't seen many riced out 240s...only a hatch with pathetic exhaust and lots of coupes with hubcaps
other than that i see s14s being used as grocery getters by 35 year old men and sometimes women. &nbsp; The hatchback is really popular in the latin part of town (this is NOT a racist comment...just factual) but i have seen more and more seep into my suburban white middle class area
the convertibles are popular with teenage girls

CLIFF NOTES:

1. &nbsp;Ive seen one modded 240 and it was awesome
2. &nbsp; There aren't many 240s in my area but they're getting more popular
3. &nbsp;Girls like convertibles

haha, suckas, I've got two! :-)

Well, one's my sister's. . .

So, this must be how those serious about building Hondas feel like. Oh well, I've only seen two crapped out 240s in my time. Mine will never be one of them, niether will my sister's. Nor will they be sold to nozzle light folks.

hehehehe, Cliff Notes. . . hehehehehehehe

Edit: I don't think anybody here would consider the sr20det rice, though I will state it's ignorant to look straight past the stock engine. It's a very capable powerplant.

All the 240s in my area are driven by older people and have 0 mods and for the most part look like shit.
There is a guy who lives around the corner from me and he has a very tastefully done 240 w/ rims i/h/e and it has a nice sound and the rims are real nice to. Compared to the absurd amounts of crappy civics that run around here w/ unpainted body kits and two rims on the back and steels up front

</span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">One question: So many of you think it is rice to put swap in a SR20DET. Why is that?</td></tr></table><span id='postcolor'>

I have no show on my car (no cosmetic mods) but have the swap. I don't consider what I did ricing at all...what is ricing are the idots that just talk about it and front like they will get the swap but just put stickers representing it but never do it.

And I am sick of people asking for a goddamn ride in my car IT IS SOOOOO ANNOYING!

You're in denial. Rice isn't just body kits, LED lights, and bling bling. It's also the attitude and poseurism. If there's some idiot who tries to drift their recently purchased hachi roku, FC, or 240SX, etc. just because they thought they learned how to do so from the show, they are ricers.

Also, the "Takumi" handle is just a name, in case anyone's wondering. I don't drift, I don't drive an AE86, I don't claim anything. I'm just a long time car fan (6 years and counting) who's also an anime fan, so that's why I watch the show.

Who here honestly does consider the SR swap ricey? Im really curious to know because I highly doubt there are very many of you? As for initial d, its not a bad show. I enjoy watching it, downloaded a few episodes thought it was pretty cool since I used to be into anime.

i wish more ricers around here would watch Initial D(I've actually never seen it) so I can watch them try to drift....and of course they would probably do it on their expensive tires <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>
The SR20 swap is not rice, thats completely the opposite of rice. &nbsp;I'd rather see what I can get out of the stock, legal engine. &nbsp; What better engine to do that with than the biggest 4cyl you can get(I think).
Is Initial D really as good as everyone makes it out to be? &nbsp;I just got broadband so maybe I'll try to get an episode.

I might be wrong, but isnt the motor in the 240z a LS6 (350 chevrolet corvette Z06 motor)? And then The Supercharger ofcourse. &nbsp; And to go along with the GT-R mustang thing, there is a 2001 Ford Ranger Edge in my town, that has red window tint, GT-R badges on each front fender, and as of 4 days ago, V-TEC stickers on the tailgate...... after I saw the GT-R emblems, I began carrying my flathead screwdriver, finally caught up with him, handed it to him, told him to take them off, he just dropped it, got in his truck, and drove away.... HA!

I would just like to make a quick comment. &nbsp;Alopt of people have said in this post "everyone is getting one" &nbsp;refering to the 240. &nbsp;News flash, they stopped producing the cars in 98'. &nbsp;Just making sure everyone was are that "everyone is not getting one" because the only ones to get are USED, meaning that they were already on the streets. &nbsp; With that said, I think I will go out and put a set of blue washer leds, a home made aluminum looking tin wing, perhaps some stickers from a company like OBX and an unpainted body kit on my S14, just so I'm not like everyone else in their "clean" 240's

I got it! We need to start making websites for the stupid ricers to do even more outrageous things. We need to make them think that the real japanese option drifters put washer nozzle lights, and black lights, and street glow, and wings west kits all over their cars. If we can get them all that stupid shit then out cars will look quite a bit better! And then tell them that its japanese style to have diffred color paint jobs on the front and back half of the car; just stupid things like that....At least that way if they're gonna buy 240s, the girlies will jock ours more.

I feel you man. i am not gonna make my car look flashy any time soon, instead its gonna go FAST. I am only 16, but i am an import guru. I know so much about cars and it hurts me to hear all these other kids talking about cars and don't make any sense. IT PISSES ME OFF!!

well next time you see these kids and ask em if they wanna race and then just smoke em with your SR20DET.

</span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">you can also see this in a SICK way, hey, more people want our cars, our car's value stays... but i'm not exactly selling my car... sad sad sad

to add to the list of sadness...

i was driving in a parking lot, and i was talkin to my girl about this 240 hatch that i see far away. &nbsp;i said "see, 240's are nice", as we drive close, BIG ASS TYPE-R printed on the side, from the door to the rear quater panel... wtf was he thinking? &nbsp;i surly edited the car w/ my handy spray paint "TYPE-RAT'S ASS".

i was in the movie theator, i see this ugly ass car, again i said to my girl "man, look @ that gay integar" i thought it was an old school integra, 'cause it had a "R" on where the trunk key should be. &nbsp;as i walked closer, it had a badge "NISSAN GT-R POWER", turned out to be a s13 coupe. i shot my self and shed my blood over the car, wishing it good luck...

again, cruiseing down the street, i looked into the rear view mirror, and said to my girl "hey look @ this gay car that's 'bout to come up w/ nozzle lights." &nbsp;and behold, a 240, so i immidately steered into the 240 and pushed it off the road w/ my car. &nbsp;that explains why my car is in the garage right now, w/o the front...

so yah, &nbsp;my car is looking really bad infront my girl... i think she's expecting me to put on type-r sticker washer nozzles and NISSAN GT-R POWER badge</td></tr></table><span id='postcolor'>

Seeing that the GT-R part is true, You should carry around a knife, and when you see it, take it off and keep it in your garage or something. &nbsp;LOL, and carry some spray paint also.
