265/35/18 Potenza RE760 on 18x10 +22. -2.4 degrees camber, 0 toe. Flat roll, maybe the slightest pull. May not be MAX rubber but I think it looks pretty beef

18s have a more square shoulder making them a bit wider per tire width than 17s. Those look great! Nice work without overfenders. Who makes those wheels? What are you running in front? Any other pics?

Will you please weigh your wheel-tire combo next time you have 'em off the back. Those look like one hell of a bang for the buck.

I'm looking at getting 18x10 +31 for the rears so I can go for max rubber. That gives me roughly 15mm of clearance to the spring from the wheel lip. Should be plenty for some 285s with minimal fender work, hopefully just a roll.

Oh sorry, S14.

I got 18x10+38's coming in soon, and I think I'll need to use 5~10mm of spacers to clear my Stance coilovers on the rear. This wait is killing me because I need to figure out how much space I have to play with so I can decide to go either 275/35/18 or 265/35/18's. Trying to minimize on raising the car up and be able to keep -2 ~ -0.5 degree's of camber.

I roughly measured the space I currently have on the rear with 17x9+17's and it's about 22mm's away from coilovers.

^ I am, clearance is stupid tight. I'm running no spacer and very minimal camber. Currently have 275/35 BFG Drag Radials which is a good bit wider than the 275/35 Goodyear Eagle F1's I had previously. If you go with a street tire and not a drag radial a 285 rear should be possible without spacers. Fenders rolled without a pull. I rub quarter panel when pulling into my driveway but other than that no clearance issues launching or hitting bumps on the freeway.

Regards,
Robert

i'm trying to figure out my new set up and trying to make the best with what i got. moving out of this stretched fitment fad and moving on to a meaty tire set up. i've been through this thread and it seems like for most s13s the choice is to run a staggered 17/18 setup. maybe except for broadfield who is right on the money with his custom wheels.

S13 hatch
current set up:
stock metal fenders- fronts rolled and maybe forced clearance pull from full lock drifting. (i got a video that shows the fenders actually being pulled out at full lock).
rears rolled and pulled maybe 10-12mm.
-wheels/tires: sportwacks/xxr 962 18x9.5 +35 215/35 dunlop dz101 all around 25mm spacer front 30mm rear.
-suspension: stance gr+ stock arms. front camber plates at 3*
(i have a full set of arms that i have yet to throw on)

ok so. i know i want to run Federal SS595s. from test fitting and eyeballing. in the rear i know i can run a 255 or 265/35 (biggest federal has from online tires) with a 8mm slip on making an effective +27 offset, and dial out my camber from negative a billion towards the -2 range and still maintain the low height and tire to fender "flushness." without so much poke.

now the fronts are the problem. with these wheels, i wanna say the minimum spacer to clear coils is a 20mm. (correct me if im wrong)
for the life of me i can't decide what tire size to run with to match the rears and not rub, poke, and run a billion degrees of camber. 225/40 is a close match to 255/35s with only a 4.7mm difference in overall diameter, and not even a mm difference in sidewall. but i think that's too much of a stretch on a 9.5 even for fatty federal tires. 235/40/18 for the front, i think the difference will be all too noticeable with a 255 or 265/35 rear.

i'm lost at where to go to make things fit and still have effective performance with good tire to fender flush with minimum front to rear poke. and maintain a neutral steering feel by not running too big of a tire width difference.

235 or 245/40/18 on front should go well with your 265/35/18's in rear for your s13 setup.

here's the thing though. as the car sits right now. it has a 25mm spacer. and the lip of the wheel is already so and so mm past the fender. im pretty content with that -3 camber off the camber plates. im concerned with clearance issues. to fit under stock metal. and as far as i know to clear the coils it needs a minimum of a 20mm. so it still gonna poke a little. im trying to figure out the best combination with my setup. ie: front to rear tire size that match in comparison with width and sidewall, give me neutral steering feel, and will still give me proper fitment.

on a tire calculator, what i found was that a 235/40 is actually taller sidewall than a 255/35 by almost 5mm... but 265/35 is only about 1mil. but again overall circumference between the two is significant. so i dunno how much that would match looking at its face under the fenders... and front to rear stagger is 30mm... i dunno how neutral that would feel?

If you look at Turbo2nr's build, his 18x9.5 inch rim with Feds 595's with 235/40 has absolutely NO stretch. When Drew and I looked at his 18x11 rears with 595's with 265/35 has absolutely NO stretch.

Moral to the story is that Feds run about 5-10mm larger then whats posted on the sidewall. As a reference, since I wanted some stretch but not mega stretch I went with 225/40 front on a 18x9.5 rim and 255/35 18x10.5 rim on the rear....all going onto an S14 chassis.

So if your planning to run Fed 595 keep that in mind. Hope that helps.

@2muchboost: yeah. i know federals run big. aka FATERAL. in my initial novel of a post i mentioned my car is already running a stretched 215/35 over a 9.5 and i no longer wanna run a stretched set up. looking for a meaty form AND function. for the front 235/40/18 federal rubbers will be a little under square on a 9.5 and 255/35 federal for the rear would be right there. my thing is... comparing those two in overall diameter on a tire calculator 235/40 is actually taller than a 255/35 and 265. i dunno if its a noticeable difference if any at all. thats one part of my question. another is what would be the best size to go with for the front (225/40 or 235/40) to get it to fit and with what offset and camber, keeping in mind that im limited to my wheels because i have to run at least a 20mm spacer in the front to clear the coils. im just trying to put the numbers together to match 255-265/35 rears.

@jfox: yeah, i've seen your car before. but keep in mind im trying to fit under stock metal....

my current set up. UGH! =/ 18x9.5 +35 effective +10 with 25mm spacer 215/35. this was after a track day and the fender actually got pulled out from rubbing. after bending it back the fender actually has a stupid credit card clearance. im over it. obviously to fit a bigger tire im gonna raise the thing.

what im looking for fitment wise. 17x9 +35 effective +10 with 25mm spacer 235/40.

reiterate: my concern is tire height difference between a 235/40/18 and 255-265/35/18 and if i have to match that difference by stepping down to a 225/40 from a 235/40 to match a 255 or 265/35.
also will i have any clearance issues in the front by running aforementioned tire sizes.

Mad, if you decide on the 265's let me know. I have a pair of RT615's brand new sitting here. They are too narrow for what I want to run in the rear and most likely won't use them.

How bad did you have to bow those rear overs?

I have some 50mm rear overs to install, and I'm thinking about going 18x12 in zero offset, so I'd have to bow another 20mm out to get 335's under there.

How much clearance do you have inboard?
Was it only 5mm? And was that to the coils or what?
