toyota cressida with 2 rear rims and some sort of homemade muffler tip pulls up next to me and starts revving...so obviously i dont rev back just because he's a dumbass
he takes off (must have been going 0-60 in 10 seconds or so) and im just ignoring him...until he flashes his hazards on...at which point im just like...what the f...then i pass him not really paying attention going like 60 or 70 and he floors it...again with the flashers...we get to another stoplight and he does its again...i pull up next to him at the last stoplight, roll down my window and say "i wasnt racing you jackass" and he says "yeah right" and starts laughing. so this time we are both turning left onto a highway feeder road...i floor it, go through the turn at 35 with my tires squealing and merge onto the freeway before he's even out of the turn...i slow down and give him the ol finger and speed off at 110

I hate those jackasses

you forgot to flash your hazards, cause then when you win don't you get his car??

anyways, I think it's more fun when you know you can dust the shizzit out of someone and just choose not to. one car (mx-6) tried to get me to "play" one time on the highway, and i was just going to a hockey game in no rush, so i just kept at my speed. the dude zooms forward, slows down, stares at me, then does it again. like the 3rd time, we pass by a cop, right as the mx-6 flies down the right lane (me in the middle lane cruisin) and swerves in front of me. yeah, that was funny as ALL hell. cops are sooooo much cooler when you're not the dick getting pulled over

i have come to the conclusion that alot of the people that rev at me are not worth my time. if you think about it i'm sure it happens to you where every type of car has tried to get you to race. the way i see it is if a cop sees you and a POS racing, who is he going to pull over first? i have seen it happen where a cop goes right for the car that appears to be more likely to race...passing on a stock car to get you.

to me its not worth it, if somebody feels they can beat me so be it....i hope they enjoy telling all their freinds they beat another car that could care less about them :/

blk240 you will not feel the same way at all when you get that SR in. you feel like you can beat the world and if you do enough to the engine you just may be able to. I was real cool and calm like when I had my KA then the SR came and all hell broke loose.

The som biach is sooooo fast, at times I scare myself. Floor it in second doing 50 accl to 65 shift run third to 90 shift fourth to 125 (guess) and fifth, do we really need to go faster, hell yeah and that all just happened in about 9-10 secs

That my friend is a rush And if you embarass the hell out of the shitty civic or cressida next to you, by all means, handle your business (Just watch for those damn copos )

I've mentioned this before, but since switching from a 240 to my del Sol, everyone seems to want to race me. It's almost nice; everywhere I go, there's people being jackasses around me which just creates fodder for the cops. Sometimes, what I like to do when there's cars like cameros or whatnot nearby, is floor the clutch, rev the exhaust like a mo-fo, and then go back in to the same gear at the same speed. This seems to make them take off like darts infront of me, and then I feel safer about there being no cops up ahead. Every now and again, I'll take the car up past 100 to pass a particularly obnoxious driver, but most of the time, I just sit back and wonder why people feel this unescapable need to drive infront of me.

If the Cressida was anything like the ones in Japan, you might have gotten you ass handed to you. Over there depending on the year you can get them with either the 7MGT(3.0 turbo) IG-GT(2.0 twin turbo POS) or the 1JZ-GT(2.5 twin turbo). also just a little info, the Cressida,Mark II,Chaser, and the Cresta are all the same car but with different looks. Sorta like the levin and the trueno.

I don't understand why you didn't stick with your initial game plan? There are few things more satisfying than having some jackwad racing back and forth around me while I enjoy a leisurely drive. I recommend waiving as you do 5 over the speed limit - it makes them really happy! And they eventually go about their business.

try going back to the hotel with numbers on the door of your Z32.

OT but still helpful:
just bring a bottle of window cleaner, a razor blade and a rag to the event if you want the shoepolish numbers off easily. spray liberal amounts of cleaner on the neccessary area, scrape off with razor blade, wipe off with rag.

glass cleaner+razor blade+steel wool+rag will get anything off of your windows.

no one ever lines up with me anymore... my friends said it was something intimidating about the N1 Dual, plus i don't usually speed anyway so i guess i don't get much attention or somethin (hard to believe with the sound of my exhaust). i dunno but i don't usually street race anyway, maybe on an empty highway from a roll for the hell of it (highways can get boring u know), but thats bout it.

With the exception of springing the odd few dollars for real stick on vinyl or magnetic numbers, I've found that I am partial to "racer's tape."

It is like colored duct tape, except that it comes off with little or no residue (it is used to cover lights and hold things down while on road courses). About 2' worth (severed down the middle will do you right). Especially helpful if you, like me, shoot for numbers like 111 (I was 1101 on Sunday).

Available at your local track's store or racing goods store. Pick up a roll today!

Oh yeah - Travis - try being at the hotel for a track weekend in Redneck, VA where you have an entire generations of riceboys pimpin' everything with 4 wheels and 3 wheel motion. It was so far out that everyone had to drive and stay at the hotel - and about 80% of us stayed at the SAME hotel. 112 racers meet about 300 ricers! The parking lot turns into a car show as they show us where it's at!

Back in high school a bunch of us were going to a movie in my friend's buick century station wagon. Well along comes some mid eighties camaro who assumes we want to race in our very stock blue grocery getter, with 5 people in it (looks like a good race to me). Well he revs up, shoots by, slows down, and floors it again. Well this goes on for about a mile when we come to a stop light alongside a double length bus with the camaro behind us. So I told my friend who was driving, to pace the bus, since it was only two lanes and the three of us were the only vehicles on the road. Well it's a 45 mph street and after a mile we *may* have crested 40mph. Needless to say, once we gave him a window to get by we never saw him again.

you're right, other than real numbers, racers tape is the best, but at $7 a roll, i tend to think twice about it. spending $300 on a helmet and $200 on a restraint system tends to wear the pocketbook thin

I can't tell you how many times in my little shithole of a neighborhood that folks rev on me when daily driving. Very rarely do I ever waste my time in entertaining them. I found that one of the best tactics is to look over at them, kinda shake your head, grin, and give 'em the 'ol brush off sign....that has pissed off so many guys trying to mess with me....it's wonderful

I see a lot of people in here "not endorsing street racing" You all sound like the damn public service announcement they put on the "Fast and the Furious" dvd. My take is that most of you take that attitude because you have been either stopped by the cops or got a suspended license. It seems strange to me that you all speak about how fast your car is or will be and then contra*dick* yourselves talking about how you don't promote street racing. Come on, you know you enjoy the thrill of making some young punk with a stock 98 Dodge Neon drop his jaw after watching you walk his sorry ass down for having the audacity to revv at you, when all you were trying to do was go home and wash your car so you can truly enjoy the great job of tuning you put to the nissan masterpiece we call the 240sx.....ok maybe that's just me, but I know for a fact that as much as you all bitch and complain about how bad street racing is, your mouth drools whenever you hear that young idiot revving alongside your happy ass at a traffic light. My advice, be real, stop fronting, you enjoy street racing and you know it. You don't like getting pulled over or losing your license or wrecking your car, hell none of us do. so to prevent that, get up off your ass, invest in some good brakes, a radar detector, and some above amatuer driving skills, pick your balls up off the gravel and be a damn man. ENJOY YOUR CAR!!!!!

ENJOY YOUR CAR!!!!!

yes, ENJOY YOUR CAR!!! which means go find a club that's doing a track day at the nearest road course. racing on the street has NOTHING on organized racing, so why bother?? seriously, if you can afford to buy gas, you can get track or at least autoX solo II time somwhere.

Street racing is for people that don't have the balls to admit they lost, since really, no one else is gonna be there to laugh at em. If you can run a course 4 times and each time go off course, and still have the balls and determination to run it the 5th time and make it... you get more props from me (since you've probably been getting laughed at by me the whole time anyways).

nah... i'm getting magnetic sheets from mcmaster.com . they're reeaaallly cheap, and they work well (jeff had em on sunday.) you can even get a variety of colors!!

The only problem with magnetics is that they come off at track events when you get to triple digit speeds. Plus, since I didn't complete the season last year, I don't get a constant regional number and never get the same number for track days.

Agreed racer's tape is overly pricey, but that is a pretty big roll!
