"DESERT CENTER — Chelsea Vu, 21, of Westminster was killed Sunday in a car crash at the Chuckwalla Valley Raceway in Desert Center, a coroner’s report said Monday.

Vu was a passenger in a coupe that lost control and struck a concrete barrier head on at the private racetrack at 25-300 Rice Road.

She was wearing a four-point harness seatbelt.

The crash — which did not occur during a sanctioned race — according to the coroner’s report, involved one car and happened about 10:20 a.m.

Vu was pronounced dead at the scene.

Cal Fire reported Sunday the driver of the car had been killed in the crash. However, the coroner’s website said Monday the driver, who has not been identified, suffered major injuries and was taken to a hospital by medical helicopter. (www.mydesert.com)"

What a shame.. RIP to this young girl.

Actually heard about this from friends of them, cant imagine what to live with knowing a passenger dies in my car.
