Rb25 240 Build
Finally decided to make a build thread for the S13. I've had the car for just over 4 years and until lately I have not had the funds to do as I pleased. Over the years I have upgraded a few things and started to get it where I wanted it.
To start off the plan was to rebuild the spare KA motor that I got with the car. I started looking around, doing some research and decided I would really like to have an Rb if one presented itself. So far here are the odds and ends of the car - KYB Front and Rear Struts - Tein Lowering Springs (plan on coilovers soon) - Megan Racing Rear Upper Control Arms - Megan Racing Rear Adjustable Toe Control Arms - Megan Racing Rear Lower Traction Rods - Rolled and Pulled Rear Fenders - N1 Style 3" Cat-Back Exhaust - Shaved Antenna and Window Wiper - 17x9 +0 5Zigen FN01rc Hyper Black Wheels (f-225/45)(r-235/45) Here is shortly after i bought the car Here is after fixing a couple spots on the body, shaving antenna and window wiper, 5zigens, N1 style exhaust, and lowering springs Finishing up the body work and painting the driver side still needs some more wet sanding/buffing door and door handle didnt match so i had to paint it, hopefully it holds up well How the interior sits at the moment Some pictures after paint work was done and how it looks now Now on to the motor part of the build. Picked up an Rb a couple days ago. Will post up the part of the build, build parts, and pics later on today. thats all for now |

Ok so now on to the motor. Build is pretty much complete for the most part. Im gonna change a few things and need a fuel pressure regulator, fuel pump, and a wideband and she will be ready to go. As of now the setup makes 438whp on race gas but will be tuned on pump to make it more of a daily

the carbon fiber intake mani was just for a mock up and test a guy did that had the motor before i did, so the manifold you see in the other pics is the one that will be used
as for lowering it, i will eventually buy some coilovers, but in my book, having a 400whp car is a little more important than hitting my shit off the ground at the moment. they will come at some point |

The NEO head was fitted, which enabled the engine to be classified as a low emission vehicle engine due to their lower fuel consumption and emission output. The NEO head featured solid lifters rather than hydraulic, revised camshafts and a revised inlet manifold, in particular the RB25DE NEO which had 2 inlets going into the inlet manifold. The combustion chamber of the head is smaller, so GT-R spec connecting rods are used to compensate. The turbo received the larger OP6 turbine. So basically it was more efficient as well as made more power if im not mistaken

For coilovers you will just have to read one of the million coilover debate threads we have here and then just decide what you think would work best for your needs. Almost every single person on Zilvia is in disagreement about what coils are best...And it's possible because there are that many different brands/manufacturers/styles.
Im in for new engine pics though. Lets see the beauty all cleaned up. |

Megan racing streets but for a few more bucks I would go pbm... Just my opinion, I'm doin the rb swap in march/April so il be watching this pretty close. U had a really clean car to start with too lucky bastard haha but def mad props. N not to familiar w/the rb so...it's possible to buy an rb25 and then swap the NEO head and it becomes an rb25 NEO? Lookin good tho sir.

If that is a question asking me if you can use a NEO head on a regular RB to make it the NEO, then yes from what i understand everything else was the same. they just made the head a little different for emissions and such. Idk if there is really that much of a gain from it to make it worth it though
good luck to you guys with your swaps as well!! yeah im pretty lucky i found that car. i got that with a parts car up here in MN for 3k. Its originally a Texas car so there isnt a spec of rust on the thing. very good base to start with |
