Well as long as you're not one of them you should let it bother you.
Sure it makes 'drifters' look bad, but if you're doing it for yourself it shouldnt matter.

Yes, it will clear coilovers in the rear. According to my offset calculations anyways.

This picture below is of my own car. 17x9+17.


Now, if I plug in the numbers on this site for calculations..

Current Wheel Width 9 inches Current Wheel Offset 17mm
New Wheel Width 8.5 inches New Wheel Offset 35mm
Wheel Offset Calculator

it gives me...

Your new wheel will have the following chracteristics:
The clearance from stut housing to the inside of the wheel will be 12mm LESS
The outside edge of the wheel will RETRACT in towards the body by 24mm

it will fit with out a problem.
