I'm pretty sure when fully settled and on level ground that it'll be 1/4 - 1/2" lower, if not then I'll be changing them. It may be 1/2" but it's gonna piss me off every time I look at it otherwise.

You remove as many collars as possible? If not, try shorter springs.
