Custom Driveshaft Shop axles intended to be used with an aftermarket 31 spine spool. If you want to stick with the weaker stock 28 spline stubs and center section we could get you a quote on axles for your specific application, they will follow the same pricing though.

I'm extremely new to drag, never been to the strip in my life. Plan to take my 240 in a month to the strip for the first time to get my feet wet.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a tire compound/size that aren't going to hook up so good that I snap my stock axles? Setup is below. Thanks guys!

LS1 with 227/234 cam
Long tube headers into single 3in exhaust
650hp built 4L60E with 2800-3200 stall converter
DDS steel driveshaft
J30 differential and stock axles
15x8 wheels in rear. Research tells me I can run a 275/60/15 tire without rubbing but I'd love more insight.

You're not going to break your axles with a stall that low. I'd run a 26x10.5 hoosier quick time pro

After about 250 passes with my ls3 s13 on a Q45 diff swap I broke the rear tonight. I haven't pulled it yet to see if it broke the ring gear or the pinion. I'm not worried about being able to get the r230 in the subframe but I don't know if I can get axles in without binding. Anyone have any info on this? I dont want to do a four link- 9 inch in this car.

Aren't you already using 350z axles with that Q45 diff? Those are pretty indestructible..

Which Q45 diff is this, the old 90-96 3.5x ratio or the newer 98-02 3.7 ratio model?

Q: Isn't the Old 3.5x ratio Q45 differential stronger?

Its just a head/cam ls3 with a 250 shot of nitrous. It has a 4l80 trans which is just a turbo 400 with overdrive. 27x11.5x15 hoosier quick time pro tires. The pass it broke on was actually without the bottle and it goes low 1.40 60's off the bottle.

Close...

This is for S14 subframes only and uses the Ford Explorer IRS 8.8 rear end. This setup can handle over 1,000HP with absolutely no issues.

http://www.mazworx.com/mazworx-240sx-8-8-irs-kit.aspx

If you send in your subframe and get the custom DSS axles you're only looking at $3,345.00

Includes:

Laser cut unwelded brackets
Rear Cover
Solid Aluminum Diff Bushings
Hardware

Customer must use:

07-10 Ford Explorer 8.8 Diff (comes 28 spline)
Q45 or Z32 TT rear hubs (32 spline)

You can get a spool dirt cheap as well as a 1350 chromoly slip yolk and an upgraded pinion with a better spline count.

The best part, everything can be over nighted from Summit or Jegs, if you're in a real bind many local speed shops will have 8.8 parts.

The bad part is that I don't work there anymore to sell it to you guys lol. In all reality though if someone does seriously want the kit I could sell it through Real Street for the same price.

The 8.8 would be the ultimate but I'm really trying to avoid the aftermarket axles and the cost associated with it if possible. Thats a lot of coin to still be irs at the end of the day

I see where your coming from, the setup is for guys who want the ultimate compromise in street car handling and drag car performance.

Another nice thing is that this allows you to remain class legal for classes such as Street Fighter that don't allow for modification of the chassis to fit a proper 9" with a 4 link.

Just a note this setup has cut a 1.16 60'

Agreed, if you're strictly drag, it doesn't make sense. However, I'm sure any fab shop can duplicate this setup relatively easily.

Using the handbrake to load the transmission, can anyone say what rpm you launch at ,do you hold the rpm steady or fan the rpm ,average about 500hp with et drag slicks 26x10

There are too many variables to offer you a set rpm. I'd raise and hold steady, slip the clutch as you can. You really should look into some type of launch control. I'm assuming you're boosted? If so, it'll be a dog off the line if you have a decent size turbo.

I'd assume you want to hold it steady, as if you had a stall on the torque converter.

And Duy, with the "White Rice" 2JZ-GTE S14 went 6.99 @200 MPH. then went 204MPH in a later pass, apparently, it still has more left in it.
