I know it's supposed to be a -3 like the brake lines are. I figured I'd get the -4 instead. It'll just take more fluid. Did you get my pm for the brake lines? |

The -4AN as your clutch line isn't about the fluid volume, the pedal is going to feel a lot worse. Its going to feel, for lack of better words "mushy" hah

Thanks for all the props guys!
Got some updates on the build! For my brake lines: I got some of Chase Bays relocated stainless braided -3 lines on the way. Big Thanks to Chase Bays for hookin' it up! I'll have those slapped on as soon as they arrive and I'll have some nice pics of the install!!! I got my -4 clutch line installed from cylinder to slave, I know it's bigger than the stock -3 line and if the pedal feels sluggish at all I'll have to replace it again with a -3! We'll see how it goes! Here's the fuel return line installed with the hard line AN adapters and Prolite hose and fittings from Earl's. I'm still waiting on my AN filter for the feed side! |

I was thinking of moving the fuel return fitting back a few inches! I made the Prolite hose long to give it slack to accommodate the motor's torque play. Now that I'm looking at it I think it needs to move back more! I'll have pics up soon.
Also, I should have my custom throttle cable bracket and radiator brackets completed soon! I'd like to have it ready for my tuner Koji by the end of this week! Last edited by ETHANOLED SR; 10-13-2010 at 03:22 PM.. |

AMAZING BUILD!!!! Both motor and fabrication alike.
I REALLLY like the Leguna Seca Blue, it looks like it damn near blinds you in the sunlight. lol Just out of Curiosity though, seeing as you striped it all down, already had a welder out, and had covered up some holes. Why didn't you just weld some Tubs in there to give it an even more Smooth look, and why didn't you just go ahead and weld up all the other little misc. 1/4" holes that were there from the Relay boxes and such? Just Wondering though.

To answer your question and everyone's curiosity as well. *Need: I really didn't see the need for tubs! *Impatience: tired of having the built motor sit for so long and want it running soon! *Budget: I want the car to be done right, full cage and paint inside and out! But my budget is tight and I can't wait any longer. lol. *Scared: Some tubs I've seen look great and others horrible. I guess I'd rather have stock tubs over a nightmare job! *Space: I did everything in an open space so far and if I had an enclosed garage I know I would've been more meticulous and I wouldn't feel so rushed. *Regret: I'd hate to mess with the engine bay later on if rubbing issues arise, but I can always have it resprayed with the cage and the rest of the car if I have to. Oh well! For the time being I can enjoy my dream motor for a bit instead of looking at it every day as it sits and waits! Yeah he definitely had big plans for it as a drag motor! Hopefully it will last much longer with my setup. Wayne has been a big help with my build. He hooks up with the best prices on parts. I owe him a big thanks and I know getting this motor fired up will put a smile on his face still! Hit up phase2 for your parts! Wayne comes thru every time for me! Quote:
I figure if I can achieve a quick responding motor with a broad power band on pump gas with a boost range of 17 to 22 psi and putting down over 500rwhp, then I'm good for now. Yeah it sure does, seems like a whole different blue in the light! Here are some small updates: I was bored out of my mind so I made this bottle into my coolant reservoir tank. It should do the job just fine! Here's my old oil catch can that I'll be running on the new motor setup, Thanks Yonathon! I am converting the fittings to AN later on, but for now it'll just be hoses. I almost drilled some holes in the firewall to have it mounted before realizing this perfect spot for it on the passenger tower. I used the factory holes which matched the threads on my catch tank. Not bad!!! More updates coming soon! |

I love love love that blue. So good, and I usually hate blue so that says alot.
Are you going to paint your valve cover?

It's a 3076R with a 0.82 A/R twin scroll turbine housing. I figured the 3071R is too small for high end and the 35R is a bit too big and laggy! |

I hope you have a tube going to the bottom of the 'coolant tank.'
It does need to suck fluid back into the system when the engine cools off.

ya there's no need to tub unless it's a drift car.
spend the time and money on the right things 1st time around. oh I didn't know that's wayne's old motor, it was at gdimension for the longest time. BTW cut and weld the coolant return pipe on the motor to make it larger like this.

Here's a pic of the back side of the cap. Quote:
I see your point on the water neck modification but is it really necessary? When you look at the stock neck it does get flatter right under the CAS but wider at the same time to compensate for the fluid volume. Here are some updates from today. My buddy Matt came thru with these brackets for the throttle cable and some aluminum radiator brackets up top. He did these without having the car there to work with so I will be modifying them tomorrow to make 'em sit better and look cleaner! Throttle cable bracket: (I'll raise up higher so it sits closer to T/B) Radiator brackets: (I'll round off the edges to give it a smooth profile) I can't figure out where to place the reservoir tank but I'm guessing right next to the radiator would be nice! |

I ordered my whole turbo kit from Full Race so I'm not sure who makes those housings for these, I'm guessing it's from ATP!!! My friend's 2.2L SR20 on a 3076R twin scroll single waste gate setup on pump gas 21 psi made over 500rwhp on dynapack! I'm sure my 2.4L full built stroker block will hit the 500 mark on pump. I trust my tuner Koji to do a reliable tune while achieving the most hp and torque at the same time, sure you can mess with timing and fuel to achieve higher hp on the dyno but it's not good in the long run. As long as the power band curve is good I'm happy! We'll have to wait till dyno day! I'll have videos and detailed charts to post! |

Is this going to be a dedicated track car?, or are you going to register it and actually drive it on the street every now and then?
