s14 Buddy club spec 2 sr20

Sup guys just curious if the buddy club spec 2 is louder than just a full 3" straight pipe? Also how much does the resonator quite it down if it does at all? Thanks!

Its obnoxiously loud imo for driving any more than a hour. If its a track only car go for it.

You could listen to youtube videos to get a idea.

I prefer apexi n1 dual or hks.

yeah i have listened to tons of vids but i am just curious about the resonator is all, i am running full 3" turbo back no cats no resonators just a vibrant 4" muffler. So i am just curious if the sound will be similar quieter or louder!

BC Spec II isn't THAT loud. I know of a few guys that run it. Myself included, granted mine is on an NA KA which is a little louder usually. All I know is that it sounds great, do it up.

I think they come with a silencer to muffle the sound a bit.

Shit, if anything you'll cut it out to put a bigger resonator. Shit got old after a while with the whole car droning while cruising in my last S14 SR.

It was so loud, my neighbors called me their alarm clock. When they hear my car start in the morning, they know its 6:30.

I feel like it really isn't that loud. I have a straight oval exhaust, and by straight, I mean more than half the exhaust does not have even the slightest bend.

This is like how people always say that solid motor mounts are too "harsh." Mine are pieces of aluminum with small pieces of rubber, and it isn't bad. (avid)

At the end of the day, this is something NO ONE on here can answer. We all have our own definition of what "loud" is. However, if you have had an exhaust with a big resonator before, and thought that was too loud, than the spec 2 will probably be too loud for you.

It also depends on the engine. If its a 4-banger, it'll be loud. Slap an I-6 in there and its quiet. I'm running ISIS dual 4" blast pipes on my RB and its quiet compared to a buddy of mine running the same exhaust in his SR.

My Spec 2 was perfect. The resonator does quiet it down quite a bit. Still loud and an awesome sound when put the hammer down. I even took a 4 hour road trip with it once (my car does have full interior however).

A full stainless 3" straight pipe with no resonators or mufflers will be louder than the Spec 2.

The spec II is basically a 3" straight pipe, so yes its going to be loud. Just to give you an idea, I didnt have to text/call my friends to let them know im coming over they could here me miles away, but its just a preference.

a little word of advice, if you are going to cut out the resonator, don't even waste your money on the spec 2. That defeats the purpose of a 500$ exhaust. At that point you might as well make your own straight pipe.

It has a resonator so it isn't the same as a straight pipe...

Buddy club spec II has pretty good ground clearance.

If you plan on running the silencer I recommend painting it black. They polish it and it looks goofy.

My friend had one of these, and it was loud. Oh and from what I remember, it does drone on the highway.
