found an abandoned 240sx
Hey everyone, I found a 92 240sx abandoned at a local transmission shop. Its been sitting there for quite a while and I was wondering if I could go down to the dmv and look up the title and buy it some way. My friend is a car dealer and told me that the title was canceled.
thanks |

Umm, that's actually my 240sx. I left it there, I want it back.
There should be a form for it at the DMV - I've went through a car sale before where the guy had no title, so he filled out a form for a sale with a lost title. Just go to the DMV and tell them that one of your family members canceled the title and abandoned the car, and that it's yours now. They should be able to help you from there. |

If the car is at a mechanic's shop, he can get a mechanic's lien on it, then he would become the legal owner of the car and can cell it to whomever he wants... The other option would be to find someone you know who is dirty enough to go to the DMV and fudge some story about a lost title with the VIN, your buddy with the dealership SHOULD know both of these processes.
