Sounds like someone was attempting to force their opinion on you instead of explaining it.
I believe Alcohol/Water/Nitrous is a form of forced induction myself. Only because you are forcing something more into the car. That forced induction increases the amount of air an engine can use for combustion.

Technically it's considered a power adder by NHRA & other organizations...but it isn't forced induction, true...there's a lot of people here who like to do stupid stuff like that, unfortunately. Personally, I don't like the Rep system here...there's no recourse here for ignorant people messing with you! Nitrous isn't forcing anything, it enables combustion more efficiently, thereby increasing cylinder pressure similarly to the effect boost has without pressurizing it on the intake cycle...
