Well if it looks good or not, thats your opinion, cause to me it looks great. And 4.6 neg camber makes what pointless? I have been right at that mark for about 7 months with no problems... It dosent feel pointless to drive. Does not feel pointless to look at, whats pointless? So pointless it feels good

My point was its pointless to run that much camber only to get a wide body sized wheel to fit stock fenders. The amount of modification and camber required is pointless. Just a run a wide fender and be done with it....which apparently you did, assuming that picture is of your car. If so, what size are your wheels and wide fenders? |

Why does it suck? I have -4.5 and I enjoy it. Don't enjoy the tire wear. Although I AM stock KA so it works for me. I believe your ka-t? Thats probably why.

Depending on caster up front, running lots of camber could potentially give you a flat contact patch on your leading wheel at full lock, thus a bit more traction...

Yes this is in the air, but my experience so far is that, once the car is down on the ground and settled from driving around the block, the wheels sit the same as how they look now, just closer to the fenders, obviously.
Got some 8mm to replace the 10mm spacers, so I'm down to 17x9.5 -5. Tires on there right now are 215/40/17 FK452s with the outside shoulders completely done for, since they were on the insides before, and I have really bad toe issues, which killed only the insides, and now I had them mounted so the bald spots are on the outsides. Hope to get a little life out of these. |

That picture has nothing to do with my buddy's car, that is mine with the 18x10 -32 and that is at -4.68 camber. I dont see how it is pointless to try and run a "wide body sized wheel" on a stock fender car... Just means you have to do a little more work to make it fit. I have the same camber that he did and I have overs, only difference is I screwed my shit on and he put a couple hours in rolling and pulling. 50mm rear 20mm front is what my overs are.

215/40/17 RT615's on a 17x9 0 offset hotwheel with 20mm slip on. Effective -20. Don't mind the enkies, this picture is just to show front fitment. Rear wheels will be effective 18x9 -26 once I can get my fender action taken care of this weekend.

FYI, 225/45/17 is taller than a 235/40/17. I'd run 235/40 if i were you.

There are companies out there that make their 215/40 or 215/45 sizes wider, or their 235/40s skinnier, to try and make up for the gap of basically not having a 225/40.
Look closer at the tire's section width and tread width data from potential tires that you want to buy, and you'll see that you might not be losing out by going with a 215, or that you aren't gonna be as "bulged" as you'd think with a 235. |
