Chase Bays Bolt In V-mount Radiator & Intercooler

UPDATE!!!! JANUARY 12

So with this setup, the radiator filler neck needs to be relocated. We used a CSR -16AN filler neck and cap, welded it. SR20 cars would be the same, just on the opposite side.

Then we use well nuts on the chassis for radiator mounting (which will be included in the kit) If you're unfamiliar with them, they're pretty sick. Its exactly like a rivet. These are PERFECT for mounting the radiator since its got a "built in" rubber washer.

Mounted and tightened

Thats it for now. All we have left is intercooler (which is being made) and aluminum "V" shaped plates connect the two and direct airflow. Give us about 2 weeks on the intercooler. Also, we do plan on making intercooler piping kits and radiator hose kits.

----
Trying to gather interest on this, we want to see who would actually want to purchase something like this.

Been toying around with the idea of manufacturing a BOLT IN V-mount Radiator | Intercooler setup for S13/S14 chassis with KA or SR. It would be a complete kit with all hardware and brackets included to bolt on to your car. We would optionally include V shaped pieces of aluminum for the sides. For radiator hoses we would have the option of silicon or -16AN. Intercooler piping varies too much so we would leave that on you to fab up, which will be very simple since its not very long.

When viewing these pictures keep in mind its a rough mockup, and the "intercooler" is actually one of our radiators. It just happened to be the perfect size.

Let us know what you think!

If it's somewhat affordable I think it's a cool idea. You might get more customers if you did make the pipes too though, like pbm has multiple options on their mid mount and that's really convenient and people are honestly lazy lol. As long as the outlets face backwards then it would be really easy to make pipes though. But I agree, great to see someone making some clean install parts and keep up the good work!

If it's true bolt in, and I don't have to hack up my radiator support, I'm in! There is no kit like that on the market.

Please make some nice end tanks for the intercooler! I'm so tired of seeing all these poor flowing square end tanks.

Definite interest from me. Only if it was well though out though.

As in, a shroud setup forcing the air through the intercooler and radiator only.

Option for a GReddy intake manifold equipped S13 SR20DET.

Short as possible intercooler piping.

OEM style turbo mounting taken into account when creating the piping.

Obviously details on the intercooler and radiator setup.

Bolt-In V-Mount set-up sounds Super Awesome!!

Hope this isn't a retarded question, but would this kit require the need for a new radiator or include hoses to re-rought stock radiator outlets? Because I sure do love my Greedy Radiator. Thanks

what is the size of that radiator? if its the same size as a "scirocco" Radiator, its too small for a turbo ka, i have a koyo V-mounted, and with drifting it still gets hot. i have 2 15" GM grand am fans that move alot of air and with my 195 sensor they are on almost all the time.

I had one of these:http://www.summitracing.com/parts/AFC-80107N/

and mine didnt work out, i had to go alot bigger, the hardest part is decideing on 2 10" fans or 1 16" neither worked out for me. so then i had to get -20an fittings added to my koyo

What about fan placement I wouldn't be able to run my altima dual fan setup? only front mount push fan with a V setup.

Guys, please read through the whole post, it's not hard. This would be a radiator/hoses/intercooler/ducting bolt in kit. No intercooler pipes would be included. I also highly doubt that this would be AC compatible, but you never know.

To Chasebays, please offer optional fans/shrouds, definitely for the radiator and possibly for the intercooler as well? That would be top notch!

no way they'd work unless they use a different radiator, that radiator is smaller than a koyo
