fuel pump prime/ wiring schemtic

Ok so im having fuel pump problems and my pump doesn't want to prime. It doesn't give the steady hmm it would normally. I replaced the pump but still the same thing(needed a 255 anyway) took it for a drive then parked it and it would'nt start agan.

Is the priming controlled by the ecu?

if I ran my own relay would i be able to run to ignition or would that damage the pump to sit and run?

the previous pump was wired in with a larger ground cable going from the red/blue wire to the pump cover for extra ground. Is the red blue not normally the power wire?

pump is good

let me know what you think and if anyone has a fuel system wiring schematic?

thanks

Wink

It sound be a Black wire for the ground and a Black-Yellow wire for the power. This BLK-YLW wire hooks up to another BLK-YLW wire that runs to the Fuel Pump Relay and the Air Regulation Soloniod.
Here is the link if you need the wiring diagram.

It is on the 9th page and in the upper righthand corner.
