s14 Trunk Leak

So my Trunk leaks everywhere... I think it may be the rubber trunk seal but im not sure... Has anyone had trouble with their trunk seal? or maybe even a leaking spoiled:S...

I've dealt with this with s13 coupes, but the concept is likely the same...places it could be leaking through are the antennae hole, the taillights, and the side markers...there is something called butyl tar sealant (you can get it from your local auto paint store for like $10 for a box that will do 20 cars worth of seals. I'm not sure on the lifespan of the sealant but your's is already 8 years old minimum so there's a good chance some of it is shot.

my trunk is getting dust in it now, sometimes water. no spoiler holes, no third brake light, and I've resealed the brake lights. the rubber seal between the lid and the car would be my last guess :\

getting that butyl stuff on it would help i suppose. worth a try.

the butyl stuff isn't for the trunk lid itself, it's very gooey and would make a complete mess of things, it's only for use in areas that aren't going to see any kind of activity.
