Good idea! Or have you driven a car with wider than 215 tires on it and no power steering? How about some r-comps with no powersteering? Didn't think so.

If you are going that big and track your car/or drift alot and shit like that you should run a PS cooler(which being all the lines are hardlines woouldn't be a extremely hard thing to do.
You know the long line that goes from side to side on the S13, it is from what I understand used to cool fluid, thats the only thing I can figure out. Removing that line and installing a small cooler should not put that much strain on the pump. Also Tie Rods are probably a extremely good thing to do at that size.

Tie rods will be Tein inner and outter, don't worry
And yes, you are correct in that the hardline that goes from the driver's side to the passenger side and back is indeed there to serve as a caveman style cooler. Not that I don't believe what you're saying KA-T_240, I just want to hear someone that has that huge of tires up front and have done some track events (I've emailed Sasha from SequenceGarage already, hopefully he has some time to email me back) to give me some feedback on the PS issue. But thanks nonetheless! Quote:

On my fronts 275/30/18 . I have boiled the powersteering on two laps, put in a small cooler no more boiling.

Finally I get to see your setup live, but like, 17x9+35 and u fit 275/40/17 up front? I know that the custom coilover setup, the housing is meant to add some clearance, but wow?.. no spacers?

Passanger fender turned out pretty good. I found some bondo in the drivers fender so it took a little more time to pull it without cracking any of the bondo or paint. I'll be working on the fronts today, hoping that I can pull a good 1/2" on the stock fenders. |

Thank you my friend! I will be running 275/40/17 NT01's on my zigen's for sure now, although I need more power to push those giant fucking tires. 17x9 +20 FN01R-C's with 255/40/17 Azenis. Rolled/pulled fenders (duh)! |

My last update for pictures. I used the Eastwood roller just to see how much I could pull the fronts without ruining the fenders, it wasn't much but I think this will do for now. This is a 275 RA-1 on 17x9 +35 5zigens with no spacers... |

If my calculations are right... and of course calculations are always wrong... well most of the time in real life...
a 18x10.5+15 with 295/30/18 would be 1mm shorter in backspace (further away from coilover) than mcoy's setup, sidewall would be 21mm shorter, tire would be 17mm shorter (wow), it would stick out 30mm further out so widebody would be required.. but speaking of the inside.. it would basically have same/better clearance... thats nuts... 18x10+15 = enkei rpf 1 or volk se37k... like omg lol |

Because if it isnt, then you obviously have the reading comprehension of a house cat. There are guys on here running 9-10" wide wheels with way more rubber than a 225 on stock fenders and youre asking if a 7.5 on 225s is too wide??

Unless you have some crazy offset rims that setup will work just fine. I ran a 225 on S13 SE rims

a 225 tire will be pretty much perfectly square on a 7.5" wide wheel, meaning your sidewalls will be pretty much vertical, no bulge nor stretch.

Correct, I was asking if the tire would fit the rim, not the rim/tire the car.

uhm 225 is not wide... wrong thread
I would fit it on an 8... 7 ur maybe talking 215... imho... to really benefit from the full thread... Edit: my dad runs 225/50/16 on a 16x6 lol.. sure itll work but yea it won't really be solid... he bought new 16x7.5 wheels though (2lbs lighter than stock too :P).. and its for a non nissan car but whatever.. |

Monty - looks good, you gonna lower any more? With a bit of a pull, you could go at least an inch lower and still have all the travel I assume you want.

Another issue I have is that I live in an area that is very hilly, driveways and alot of the local businesses have steep entrances that cause low cars issues with scraping entering/exiting. I do have an Eastwood fender roller in the garage and will be using that and whatever else it will take to roll/pull the fenders to fit what I have now. I'm sure with the spring rates that I'm running that it probably isn't needed unless I have an off at high speeds... which is more than possible with my local track and lack of ABS. I was able to take a few more pictures from the front and back after finishing up the install this last weekend... to bad there's still snow on the ground here or I'd be out driving it |
