s13 #63 ECU for automatic?

I received a ECU with #63 onit with my red-top motor w/ 5-speed transmision. I was looking through the sr20 faq and saw that this number on the ECU is for a 91-93 180sx or S13 Silvia automatic. Can anyone confirm this? Did I get the wrong ECU with my motor/trans? Will it work anyway, or do I have to purchase a #62 ECU? Any info would be great as this is the last item I have to install to complete my swap.

Im pretty sure you need the 62 or E5 *older s13 blacktop* ecu. If you need an ECU, lemme know, i got 2 of them laying around *ones stock, and a SPL tuned one*

On the second sr20 motorset I imported I recieved a #63, so I called my contacts and told them I needed the #62. Well, they sent me a #62 and said keep the #63. It IS for an automatic, but I've read that it will still work. Once I get my SR running I plan to test the automatic ECU and see for myself.

I would contact them anyways, and see if they have the #62 that was supposed to go with your clip.

heh

the #63 ecu will work with no problems whatsoever on the 5spd red top sr20.

Keep in mind that all shifting control is "pressure related" inside the auto trans in this year, and that the ecu specification is to allow for speed cut in the 4th gear of the auto box.

Thanks a bunch

So, would I have to alter or cut any wires to eliminate any speed limiting or boost cut? or any other downside to using an auto ecu on a 5 spd?
Thanks for the useful info so far.

Well besides the fact that everyone will make fun of you because your ECU says 63, and not 62.. not that I know of. I'd like to know though as well...
