"befriend" *username*
I noticed that as I am looking to be "friends" with a user on Zilvia.net, the link will always say "Befriend *insert username here*". This is when I am looking at a members profile.
Shouldn't it say "Add *username* to friends" or something similar to that? I didn't click on a lot of friend requests because I thought I was already their friend because it says "befriend". I mean I know we are ALL friends here...but it needs to be looked upon. Thanks! |

Befriend, in it's verb form, means 'to make friends with'. In it's transitive verb form, it means 'to behave as a friend to'.
Joe Guy and Jim Fella might be best friends in the real world, but since we haven't perfected the Skynet AI yet, our server doesn't realize this. This is why you must associate your username with theirs in our social networking system by choosing to 'befriend' your buddy.

I guess I was getting befriend and turning it into the word de-friend...hahah sorry for not even bothering searching for the definition myself but I appreciate you taking the time to post it and show me.
