That's what I tried to say about the two-tone charcoal and light lavender pastel-ish color combo, but hopefully that was an easier way to explain it...

Just got it back from the painters a week ago...

Toyota 040 Super White II, the purest white possible in my opinion.

if you cant take the time to tape off the wells who knows what other corners you cut.
i would have told them to fix it right when i saw it

Overspray like that could easily be taken care of though. So, I would personally give a shit less if they oversprayed the wheel wells. Undercoat it and you're set. Looks better anyway.

Now, if they got overspray in the engine bay, weatherstripping, or glass, that'd be different.

No overspray on weatherstripping or windows but I did have my issues with the painters due to timing and slight portions on the car they overlooked. Needless to say it could be better but in person it looks mainly flawless. The pictures are taken after a few days of driving around so there is rubber, road & brake dust slightly accumulating in the wheel wells. The largest issue I had was the front and rear origin fenders didn't take to the paint well so there are imperfections that will be fixed in the near future.

P.s. My car was Alpine White to begin with, so maybe that's what you're seeing. I dont like the cream/metallic appeal so I went with Super White which Nissan has a version of but it's not as bright as Toyota's.

yeah dont get me wrong, paint looks great.
maybe its just from experience with working with painters that like to cut corners on simple things usually means they cut corners everywhere else...
as far as the fenders, was it fish eyes or crackling??

Crackling... It was explained to me that the hardner (silicone possibly) that is shipped on fenders were the culprit.

PAINTERS HELP...
couple days ago went by my buddies body shop to try and find this porsche color that has been haunting me non stop. he couldn't find it in his machine, it would come up a completley different color. tonight i found the color code and who makes it for porsche. The brand is glasurit and the code is "7A1". Is there a program or website that could take that glasurit code and turn it into a dupont code?

i'm sure it is, i mean it had the german name of the color as well as the make of car. even if it's not it must be close and i'll be happy, it's really my ONLY option at this point considering i DEF cannot afford to drop $400 on a gallon of paint and get the glasurit stuff.

^^^ Why are the tubs shaped like that? And it looks like they are not that far forward. Or is that reflections playing tricks on the eyes.

The paint is tight!!1

Cheers guys, much appreciated. Click on the pics, I've linked them to the blog for you, there's more pics on there. Think its just the pic, tubs are plenty far forward. Will be painting some more stuff this week. Got another few colours to try out aswell just arrived today.

Just painted some centers in BMW silverstone 2:

Thanks Jared, I take it you mean the way they curve out wider half way down? I didn't want to go cut any further back into the strut tops when I was cutting the metal away so I stopped where I was happy and then just pulled them out further down to meet the original lines. They're both even as they were made from one template but I'm stood off center in that picture making one look like it curves in more than the other.

ya i meant how they curve. it definitely adds a bit of unique "character" to the tubs, opposed to just a regular curve
