Why clutter up the forums with new threads?
Ok, I don't get why I can't recycle my thread where I'm selling something.
I figure, 2 bumps and then I'll bump it again in about two weeks after my second bump. Why can't we just do that? Why should we start another thread and crowd the forum with a copy of a thread I can recycle? I don't get it. Can someone give me a good reason? Or do I just not know something?

It's not that, it's the the fact that when I search for something several post have
come up with the same items, by the same poster, but different days. It's just like spam.

thats why you request for the mod to close the thread. its benefits the seller actually. you keep bumping it up, people will recognize your thread and dont bother to look at it.
you put a fresh thread and a fresh title. people will check it out, and possible buy something from you. |

i think the reasoning is, if it doesn't sell after 2 bumps, chances are, it won't sell at all. so you close the thread, start a new one with different pricing, more information, etc...

I have repeatedly posted stuff for a good price not having it sell until it finally did. Oh and why the hell should I lower the price on something that is already priced fairly for the sake of some cheap asses. LOL The reasoning is a lowballers dream. It theorizes that you must lower your price till the stuff sells. That is the what destroys markets. Anyways, what the OP posted is a waste of time because the rule has been made and administration feels it works.

Having been on a number of different automotive forums (Honda-tech.com, Scionlife.com, Clubxb.com, etc...) none of them have this rule. Honda-tech, of all others, have the most busiest classifieds section, to the point where it has become a separate site (Hondamarketplace.com) they allow thread bumping as much as you like, I've literally seen 100+ bumps from one person on one thread alone. Granted, yes you will see a thread with 10+ pages, but you wont find multiple threads from the same user selling the same parts, what I think is being overlooked is that those multiple threads are a waste of bandwidth, it's taking up space somewhere, somehow, is it not? Why not have a bump limit per time period, like only one bump per day or x amount of days? I agree with Dave, some people have parts posted for sale for stupid cheap prices, so what if no one bites on your thread, you keep dropping prices till it's free? But seriously, If the powers that be on this forum want it to stay the way it is, they should allow us to be able to lock/close/delete our own classified thread atleast.
