s13 sohc ka alternator?

For a while my battery light flickered on and off. Sometimes it would be bright as hell and other times it would barely be visible. I figured it was my alternator going out, but I didn't think about it that much. My battery had also died a while back because someone left the door open and the dome light stayed on.

Last night I went drive around for few minutes and I could hear a slight humming noise. Sounded like it came from the bay/dash, but I couldn't point it out because it was pretty late and I had no light. This morning I tried to start, and the engine wouldn't crank. There wasn't a loud tick like my battery was dead, there was a really quiet noise toward the passenger front of the bay.

I'm guessing this is the alternator, but I want get you guys' opinion first.

I'm also posting this from school, and I'm telling my friend what to do through text at home.

The flickering of your lights was the voltage regulator on the alternator. It's most likely your alt is the problem. Take somewhere to confirm it.

Thought it might have been a corroded battery.
Took both to get tested, alternator was fried.
