Woman Who Died While Watching TV Sat Unfound for 42 Years

Hedviga Golik made herself a cup of tea and sat down to watch some television in her home town of Zagreb, Croatia. Sadly, she died in her chair. This was in 1966. She was just found, 42 years later, in her time capsule mausoleum where she's been sitting ever since. She never finished her tea.

What's absurd is that she was in fact reported missing, but somehow no one ever checked her apartment, which leads me to believe no one checked anywhere. I mean, where else do you look for someone when they're missing? I don't understand it. Her neighbors apparently just assumed she moved out of her apartment, and she was finally found when the police broke in to figure out who owned the place.

A police spokesman said: "When officers went there, they said it was like stepping into a place frozen in time. The cup she had been drinking tea from was still on a table next to the chair she had been sitting in and the house was full of things no one had seen for decades. Nothing had been disturbed for decades, even though there were more than a few cobwebs in there."

Apparantely, he made his own steam bath tub or something along those lines, the water boiled him to death.

When the cops tried to pull him out from the legs, the skin literally pealed away from his body...

Truth be told.

All the big cities in Italy smelled like shit. It kind of made the really cool stuff seem less cool, since it always smelled like someone just took a shit in front of me on a hot summers day.

You never seen a mummified body in books or a museum? I'm not talking about the Egyptian ones or those wrapped up in sheets.

A frozen mummified body is scary because there eyes are still intact with skin that reminds me of goat hide. I use to look at them all the time when I was a little kid (no I'm not twisted).

The tea should have been well beyond evaporated by then... How do they know she never finished it? Tea leaves would have settled and withered to dust. About the only proof they might have is that there was a discolored ring around the tea cup, but even that isn't solid evidence IMO :P

42 years and no one found her by the smell, lack of presence, lack of paying bills, etc? Hell, if someone in the US doesn't pay a bill, there are collectors banging on the door every other day, phone ringing off the hook. I mean seriously, its not like someone can live off the radar so long as to never be found for 42 years. Something about this story isn't stirring the koolaid.
