Megan coils, Abercrombie Motorsports 25mm extended FLCAs, and eccentric bolts. Need to slot the coils, but I haven't gotten around to borrowing a drill press.

Has anyone run Toyo R1Rs? I was going to run 235/40 Federals in the rear on my non drift pair of wheels but the R1Rs are on special and have free shipping and come out to be only 20-30 bucks more.

I am curious if they run narrower or wider then a Yokohama S-Drive.

To not clutter the thread with text, more whoring.

17X11 -1
-1.3
245/40 S-Drives

I need something that will be just a hair narrower then that and if the Toyos run narrow I can get 245s and they should fit.

Tires don't run "narrow" or "wider." 235 is 235. The only difference is the sidewall construction. Some LOOK narrower just because of the sidewall construction. Take the Falken 512 for example vs the 912. Way different construction of sidewall type and the 512s look much narrower. Don't believe me? Go to their site and get the rolling diameter for the same size tire, just a 512 vs 912. You'll see they're within .1" of each other heightwise and section width.

Please stop.

You don't know what you're talking about.

Yes, aspect ratios are aspect ratios, but there is a VERIFIABLE variance among tire manufacturers.

For example a 255/35/18 Falken FK452 wont rub at all on the rear of my car, BUT a 255/35/18 Hankook Ventus V12 will rub quite a bit. There's more to that then just one tire "looking" wider or more narrow than the other. Get real....

Uh, wouldn't that be sidewall construction differences as I already said?

Hell, you can just tell the sidewall differences from model to model of the same size tire by eye. Some have more "rounded" or broad shoulders, some have more "square" or "oblong" shoulders. Like my example of a 512 vs 912. The 512 has a much more oblong (thus thinner looking) sidewall vs the 912 looking much "beefier" or "rounded" at the sidewall corners. So, taking that, the 512 would rub a lot less and look "more" stretched, giving you the EFFECT of running "narrow"

VARIANCE AMONG MANUFACTURERS.

pay attention.

Therefore a Falken 235 is NOT the same as a Yokohama 235 or a Federal 235 or whatever.

You claim that there's merely a visual difference when in fact the difference is quite OBVIOUSLY physical as well.

It still applies. Obviously if the same manufacturer already makes sidewall differences between models, why would it not apply to other manufacturers to the same size tire? It's the same thing. YOU PAY ATTENTION.
