I sent him a PM for his offsets too a few days ago. No reply yet. In the meantime, where I can see pics of your 17x9.5's with 255's?

Edit: He just responded. Those are the 17x9.5+12's with those 275's on them. Gangster.

What are you talking about? Would you rather he put monster truck tires on it?

Big sidewalls are for drag racing slicks, 'tard.

also keep in mind a 30/35 sidewall on man sized tires isn't that low of a profile.

taller sidewalls means more traction.....

isnt that the whole point of having a wide tire? to get as much traction as you can? ask all the supra guys who spin with ther 305s b/c they have small sidewall.

What it means is more sidewall compression on launch, which leads to a bigger contact patch.

When turning, it means the tires lean on their sidewalls, reducing their contact patch and making turn in feel sloppy.

So no, a taller sidewall does not mean more traction, it means more traction for drag racing, less traction and predictability for handling.

This isn't the S-chassis drag racing thread.

I swear I saw your car at a cruise-in in Michigan about 2 years back. Then again at IA last year. This car REALLY does get driven.

I hope you realize the aspect ratio is not a measurement, but a percentage of the width... A 215/30 is not the same height as a 305/30 just because they both have a 30 in there...

I'm confused by your comment perhaps

You guys are penis riders. His car is amazing no doubt. I have read his blog. His tire sizing on this particular set of Work's looks terrible. Look past the flawless paintjob and expensive wheels, and sick wire tuck and...all that. I keep it real.

i didnt say he needed a 70s sidewall.... there is a point where a sidewall is to small and the car will just slide even with wide tires. If the sidewall is too small then it will be too stiff, accel or turning. Im just saying a slightly taller sidewall would be more useful. I just assumed these ppl wanted big tires to have more traction. I guess i was wrong, maybe it just like stretch, some ppl just like the look.

I have:
18X8 225/45 Front
18X9 255/45 Rear

Nothing special.
Your car is incredible, one of the best i've seen around here, and I have the utmost respect for folks running a 285 on an S13 chassis. I'm just not a fan of rubber band tires. To each his own I guess.

You are right, I always preach "to each his own" myself. However, if I am guilty of too small of tire, then you are guilty of too large of a tire..... you have some mega overall diameter there. For me it was six of one, half dozen of another. If I went with 245/40's and 285/35's, then the overall diameter would of been too big. But the 245/35 and 285/30 is closer to exact than the next step up.

By-the-way, a new Porsche GT2 RS comes with 245/35's on the front

I dunno, but IMO broadfield's fitment on the coupe is PERFECT, i dont think running bigger profile tires would do any good. But maybe some 255's up front would be nice, awesome work though.

Yeah, I was going to do 255's, but they would rub too much while turning. Even my 245's rub on the metal at full lock. I would need to tub it to run 255's at the ride height that I am at.
