My S13 need brakes. Daily driven,but needs a little performance stopping. Deciding on Power Slot or Power stop,or maybe brembo stock replacement. wondering if there is any difference between the slotted rotor and the crossed drill rotor,in performance,noise, etc.? which one better and which should I get?Why? Also need some recommendation on brake pads,beside EBC or Endless,can't afford them. Any advice would help.

Performance difference between slotted/drilled and the brembo blanks will be negligable. Really it's a cosmetic and dollar difference. Slotted/drilled look pretty cool but will not offer any noticable advantage over the brembo blanks on the street. I'd go with the blanks and spend the extra money on better pads, stainless steel lines, and better brake fluid (though I hope you planned to flush it anyway, otherwise it will be the weak point in your system).

SS lines will runs you an extra $80-100

Fluid ranges $5-15 per liter I'd recomend Castrol GTLMA or Valvoline synpower which are both $5-6 and are available just about anywhere. For a streetable race fluid, ATE super blue (gold) has worked well, but would be overkill without doing some track time and runs $10-15 depending where you look (usually only in true race shops).

Blanks work the best and cost the least - no reason to buy anything else.

For street pads, it depends... cheap and common Axxis Metal Masters work fine for most spirited driving. Good bite, soft on rotors. Hawk HPS are good too. If you spend a lot of time going downhill, or you autocross, you might consider something slightly more aggressive than those two, like Hawk HP+, Axxis Ultimate, Porterfield R4S.

Blanks sound pretty good considering there cost and I'm on a limited budget. Thinking about Hawk pads as well. Thank for the help

nopi has some for $110, i bet shipping would be a lot though.

i've got a question for everyone, what's the difference between brembos and cheap rotors from autozone?

Good quality rotors will be plated so that the non-friction surfaces don't rust as easily. They'll also have tighter quality control over the castings (less likely to crack or burn).

I just bought mine from a local guy here for 45 a peice. Not a bad deal at all. You can get them pretty much anywhere.
